Hey Heroes Fans,

I love Heroes, and I can't get enough. So I just thought, what if there was a companion show, so I, and perhaps more people could get even more Heroes-styled action.

My idea is pretty simple, a show called "Villains" about how powers change people for the worse, as death and vice would be more common, characters would cycle a bit more common (not quite as fast as that old X-Factor comic), often getting killed either by the government, cops, other villains or what have you. Each character a different study on how power corrupts, some people get ambitious, some people go crazy, some people just get caught up in bad situations or get used or misunderstood.

The season finale could build up to a big brawl between the main characters or some epic battle with drastic consequences for the entire world.

I also had the idea of a kids cartoon called "Sidekicks" about a group of friends who come together when they find out they all have powers, and it could be a whole thing there. Heh.

Anyone else have thoughts... perhaps you feel that spinoffs shouldn't occur for a few years, that's fine. At that time, do you think these ideas could work? Do they need things fixed/changed? Do you have your own ideas?

With the exception of "Frasier" spinnoffs suck. :down

laverne and shirley was good. so was mork and mindy. facts of life. benson.

I think its too early for a spinoff. Plus, I think your spinoff ideas sounds like Heroes with a different cast or animated version of it.

A better spin-off idea would be a show about FBI agent Audrey Hansen and her cases on supernatural phenomenon. But that idea would sound more like X-files.

Nobody likes Stargate Atlantis? Star Trek Next Generation? DS9? (stops :) ) Mercy Reef seemed like it could have been pretty good. Oh, yeah: CSI: Miami, Law & Order: SVU.

Spinoffs are a risk, I'll agree, ESPECIALLY for Sitcoms, but Heroes seemed like enough of a Genre show to carry it. And it WOULD be "Heroes," with a different tone, setting cast and storylines, otherwise it wouldn't be a spinoff, it would be an origional show.

I'd rather have those things explored within the show itself, except for the Audrey thing, she reeks of dead character

It would tank like that other great spinoff idea That 80's Show.

Hmm... alright, for those who choose to ignore the half dozen successful, here's a completely rediculous idea: Heroes gets a bigger crew and more writers and expands to a two-night a week show, dealing with more characters with many interconnected plotlines. You can watch only Monday Night Heroes OR only Thursday Night Heroes and still understand everything, but watching both gives you a full experience, Thursday Night Heroes would have it's own main characters/plot (as opposed to Peter, Hiro and Claire) but minor characters would shift happily between the two shows at will (Hana, DL/Micah/Nikki, Merideth)... kinda like if the online comics were expanded into a whole new show with some new characters.

Two hours of Heroes every week... practically getting a movie every week, what could be cooler?

"Heroes: SVU" no...
"Heroes: Atlantis" no, no...
"Heroes: Warrior Princess" AI... never...
"Heroes: The Next Generation" ARGH!
"Heroes: Miami" DaNGIT. I can't come up with a good name.
"Heroes: A Different World..." I dunno...
"Heroes: Smackdown"... nah.
"Heroes: Angel..." Meh... not quite.
"Heroes: Fraiser!" Yes!

heh, the thought of a "Villains" show had occured to me, but I don't think it would work.

We're never going to get a Villains show for the same reason we don't have a Joker comic-book although Joker is the best villain ever.

Villains are at their greatest when working against a hero or confrunting a hero. Also, a good villain does not hog the attention, unless he's Joker.

I have a good one, it's called "Supporting Cast", it's about those who never get to shine in the spotlight, are always in the background of the main characters and don't have any powers.:cwink:

Heh. I actually thought that turning Micah, DL and Nikki's life into a webisode format might be kinda cool... it just seemed smart to me, since they can do ten minute things like 'Wireless' and keep it short and all web, but still story-pushing, but NOT essential... I thought that'd be cool.

A "Thursday Night Heroes" show which annexed a lot of the subplots of "Monday Night Heroes" could fill that role as well, though Thursday Night Heroes would technically need its own plot and such, and from there it deserves it's own subtitle... If Thursday Night Heroes features maybe a bigger worldview of the SGs, how does the Pentagon react? The UN? Russia? So on and so forth... perhaps a more epic feel, I'd call it "Heroes: World War III" with SGs as "persons of mass destruction" and the crucial method of waging a shadow war in the 21st century.

And still build into the Monday Night Heroes Storyline...

it appears that volume 3 will be about villains, so good call! :sym:

I want a sitcom about Sylar killing everyone, he will have someone to talk to him for funny conversations, and follows him around his everyday life, it'll have a laugh track and even guest stars from Heroes.

I'll call it; Sylar and friends.

Glad you found the thread! :)

That's the first thing that came to my head when I saw the title: Damn. They're always stealing my ideas. We'll see if their characters match my fanfiction.

Good examples of spin-offs: ANGEL, Laverne and Shirley, Mork and Mindy.
Fraiser, JUSTICE LEAGUE (kinda a spin-off, cuz who knows if we'd have it if it wasnt for B:TAS)

Bad examples of spin-offs: The Lone Gunmen. Facts of Life.

You can add Kramer and Joey's poor attempt at spin-offs from each of their respective shows.

LOL. I was trying to find another thread and I was surprised to found this one.

I don't remember Kramer having a spinoff. i think you're thinking of a unrelated tv show starring michael richards. and that was a horrible show.
