The Force Awakens SPOILER - CONCERN W/ John Boyega’s character

They would still need to keep law and order post collapse of the empire. The Jedi order was basically just Luke at the end of RoTJ and the rebels alone probably aren't strong enough police the whole galaxy so I could see them incorporating stormtroopers into the new republic.

Not everyone in the empire was evil. Luke was wanted to join the imperial academy before new hope.

Ya but they will probably have different uniforms. Everything points to the Imperial Remnants to be out there. Because not all systems saw them as evil either. Many probably were better off and felt more secure, many probably saw the Rebels as terrorist, and the attack on Alderaan justified.

I though it was generally excepted that Boyega’s character was going to be a "rogue" of sorts,so it's no surprise.

I'm still holding out that Luke passes the baton to a "farmboy" not unlike himself.

with the recent reports that John Boyega’s character is just a Stormtrooper and not even a JEDI like most of us were hoping to see sets me back a little.

I was hoping that he would be Luke's adopted son or something taking the reigns from Luke as the new badass Jedi of the galaxy.

But it seems society still can't make a BLACK man a main character LEAD for any serious series.

I was hoping that we could break the barrier.

It is time for a African American to be in a lead role for a serious series.

can you imagine the barriers being broken if something like this would happen.

Frankly, it saddens me.

Why does everything have to be BLACK & WHITE?

How about a Native American lead? An Asian lead? A middle eastern lead?

-I was never expecting Boyega to be a Jedi. I figured he would be more of the "Han Solo" of the ST, the grounded, sensible, "normal" guy that the other leads play off of, likely to be Ridley's love interest.
