The Force Awakens John Boyega as Finn

Keeping the no attachments rule for the Jedi doesn't make sense in light of how the story played out because Luke's victory over the Emperor and Vader's turn back to the light side was entirely because of his attachment. The love of the son to the father. There's no way Luke would reject that, even after the tragedy he endured post Jedi.

And it makes even less sense still for Rey to care about it. Hell one of the big things with her in the movie was her wanting to "belong" and have a family after being lonely/on her own for so long. And she kind of has that now, or is at least starting to, and she ain't giving that up for some stupid/outdated rule by some people who died like 60 years before after being completely outsmarted/defeated.

That was one of the film's biggest strengths. Everyone had chemistry with everyone else.

How exactly is this annoying? It is the usual shipping we get with all major fanbases.

I think to others just annoying in the sense with something that is clearly meant to be one thing but isn't... which can be said with any shipping. But shipping can get annoying if it gets out of hand regardless of sexuality. The bombardment[tumblr] of it is a whole other thing that's annoying. Not necessarily the pairing itself. Then if it doesn't happen people whine about it like it's the person's fault that they selfishly didn't take into consideration what some people on the internet thought. Unfair projected expectations onto something happens all too often with fandom.

But tumblr was built for shipping. Why else would you be on tumblr if not to talk shipping? :funny:

Those two did have the best chemistry in the whole movie haha. Also, Rian Johnson agrees https://***********/rianjohnson/status/687503266121297924
Yassss. Coz I ship Reylo. Leave Rey to my lovely bastard Kylo Ren. :gngl:

I don't get it. People really think Rey is a Skywalker but then there's "Reylo" so... not new to shippers at all.

To be fair, when Kylo carries her off to his ship bridal style, it's like total Gothic Romance 101 :)

And the interrogation scene... let's just say that if they turn out to be related it's going to be a tad weird to rewatch. Unless JJ was deliberately giving a nod to that kiss in the OT.

A lot of people think Poe is "clearly" into Finn. It's shipping, it's what people want to see. Those two had a scene that could be counted as almost a romantic thing anyway, it makes way more sense than for example Poe and Rey.

Aaand Oscar Isaac is really into the Poe and Finn pairing himself haha.

That Rey and Kylo thing though, eww. I love Kylo but seriously, Rey deserves better.
I mean to be honest, I still don't understand why Harry is attracted to Ron's sister in the Harry Potter movies. Had Harry turned out to be gay, it wouldn't have surprised me. So maybe there is something to it.

Apparently Harry wanted to spend his life shagging a girl that looks just like his mother, but wanted nothing to do with Emma Watson. Yeah, he is probably gay. :o

And when I say that, I never got the sense that Harry was truly attracted to Ginny or truly loved her. He just didn't spend that much time with her in the films IMHO. I don't think they did a good job of selling me on their relationship.

I feel a bit similar with how they handled it in the book, but in the book they made Ginny a far more enduring character, so even though Harry randomly fell for her, it made a little bit more sense.

I mean spending all that time with Emma Watson. Dancing with her and all that. He's not the least bit attracted to Hermione at all? To me it was like, seriously? That's why I would've been fine with him being gay because I mean...this isn't meant to be an insult on Harry, it just didn't ever seem like he was that interested in the women. Also, I'm judging this purely by the films. I still haven't read the books.

Even in the books, I felt that they did a good job establishing his attraction to Ginny in Half Blood Prince, but then in the final one she just pretty much disappears and then boom, they're married. The last book was a fail in general IMO.

It's not like they made out with eachother during that scene.

Well no but to me that scene still had weird vibes to it that shouldn't really exist between relatives.

"Vibes" of course is purely subjective and not necessarily something the film makers intentionally put in. I remember watching bits of Children of Dune TV series ages ago, with the very young James McAvoy, and thinking that he maybe had a bit too much chemistry with the girl who played his sister. But there's no way that would have been intentional.
