The Dark Knight Spoilers and Speculation

i'd rather have him become captain first. its too soon for him to be commisioner.

I personally would have preferred him to have been a lieutenant in Batman Begins and a captain at the end, just like in Batman: Year One.

Something I was wondering....

Is the street confrontation between Joker and Batman from the trailer (i.e. "hit me" and the bike sliding around Joker) the climax/finale of the movie?

I remember people talking about a possible amusement park confrontation, and since nothing has surfaced about that recently I'm figuring that was just speculation that died down...

What are people's thoughts?
I think it probably is. It has a "final fight"-ness about it.

I just thought of something else after reading through some posts about it - since Gordon can't jump from Lt. to Comm. after Loeb's death, perhaps the middle-man is taken out as well. The Joker's smart enough to know about police hierarchy, so he might have intentionally done both Loeb and whoever is the captain in order to force Gordon, who, in Joker's mind, is probably not ready for the job or experienced enough to do it well. It would probably help this idea if Joker knew about Gordon's connection to Batman...

this is all speculation, of course :cwink:

He probably says "Good evening Commissioner" before he kills loeb.

We know he says "why so serious?" to Loeb..which also makes me think he says "lets put a smile on that face" in that scene as well..could be wrong though.

Most people are pretty sure he wasn't talking to Loeb. I think it's Gamble. I could be wrong though.

Joker and Gordon are working together. That's the big twist.

Could be Harvey Dent working behind the scenes. Getting all these guys bumped off to get Gordon into a greater position of power.

I think the twist will be that Harvey Dent wears womens underwear.

Closing scene *Dent looks upon a mirror posing in women's undwearing frowning* Joker: Why So Serious? Dent: Does this make me look fat? Joker: No..you're just a freak......like me! Muahahahahhaha..

But seriously I think Lobster_Charlie is right.

some how i think it may be harvey workin a little with the mobb and workin form inside the pd somehow

Not so sure. I guess the big question is this: does the chase scene (where the Hyams truck flips over) occur directly after Bruce's party? I always assumed that Joker crashes the party at some point mid-film, kidnaps Rachel, dives out the window (as was stated by many spy reports) and then goes on the chase.

It would help to know some of the major action sequences. For example, we know the Joker gets caught at some point in the film, and then escapes. Does he get captured after the Hyams truck scene? Because his makeup is smeared in jail, leading me to believe he's been through quite an event. On top of that, you have Joker killing Loeb - does the Joker get caught on purpose to get to Police HQ, in order to get to Loeb? Or does that come afterward? Joker crashes Loeb's funeral - is that before or after he's captured? Or before or after Bruce's party?

We don't know enough, but I'm not sure Nolan would reveal the final confrontation scene in the second trailer. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't even know the train scene existed in "Begins" (nor did I see footage of it in commercials) until long after I actually saw the film itself.

I'd pin the truck flip & Joker's incarceration as being in either the middle or end of the second act.

If you have been following all of the spoilers stuff since the beginning, I won't state it here incase somebody doesn't want to know, but I'm pretty positive almost all of the stuff fromt eh trailer was centered around a certain part of the move in the middle. I really don't thinkt hey showed us that much even though it seems like they did. Everything in the trailer was involved with the street fight scene, arrest, jail, and party, and from some of the stuff I've seen and heard, they all happen around the same basic time in the movie.

Yeah, I thought about that, too, but I guess it's a probable no.

I am still sticking to my speculation that releasing all the inmates at Arkam in Batman Begins was just Ras Aguls back up plan to watch Gotham be destroyed by releasing the Joker from Arkam. Talia will will show up in the third movie and recruit Two Face out of hiding to help him get rid of Batman, when the Joker gets wind he was part of a plan by Ras he will break out of Arkam with the help of Harley and be the Joker in the deck and foul up the plan to kill Batman because well...the Joker wants to do it.Talia falls for Batman but Catwoman wants him too, Ras reveals himself and he and the Joker duke it out while Two Face fights Batman. Heck maybe even Tali and Catwoman face off..Well at least that's what I would like to see.....

I still say the Jokers release on gotham was part of Ras's plan and we will see him again...

wow, Pythenis, I don't think you could be more wrong. It sounds to me like you would like to see a Batman, Catwoman/Talia Porno as directed by Ra's Al Ghul. That's most definitely not what is going to be in the third movie....... Try again.

The Joker Truck Flip/ Automatic Gun fire/ Batpod swerving around Joker/ "Let's put a smile on that face" is the final fight sequence. It is def. the last scene with Joker and Batman a confirmed first hand from a PA.
