The Dark Knight *SPOILERS* What TDK was filming in the U.K. + more

have you been in a cave?

there is already a released picture of Heath as the joker.

:trans:I apologize...when I said resemble...I was referring to his character/personality/thought process. His appearance is null if it works with the story, look, and tone of the movie.

no need to apologise my friend, you did nothing wrong,I haven't seen you around these parts, welcome to the world of superherohype!

I'll be happy with this aspect of the joker as long as they keep two things from the issue; 1-Joker announcing his crimes before he commits them (likely on tv, but hopefully radio) and 2-Joker being a physical threat to Batman. This is something that has been seriously lost in both the comics and other medias for some time. They need to bring back the physical joker. Having him be a threat to batman both mentally AND physically would once again elevate him to true arch-nemesis status :)

wow schlosser! i hadn't put those two together; i'd completely forgotten how he'd stolen the uniforms... and was really hoping that they would tie in the "master of disguises" thing. that run in with Harver and/or Bruce sounds VERY intriguing

It sounds like they have The Joker's character spot on. I only wish he looked something like this:

Or the internet.

Yes, I'd say updating it so the Joker announces his plans via an internet virus would be the more likely way to go. Maybe the whole 'I BELIEVE IN HARVEY DENT TOO' website is some sort of reference to the methods the Joker will use in TDK.

This is very interesting to think about.

One of them contains dialogue that sounds like it takes place during a call-in talk radio show.

I'll just repost what I said in my new thread here, since I didn't see this one first:

BOF reports:

I was told by more than one BOF'er/scooper that some of the stuff filmed at the University of Westminster is right out of BATMAN #1, but updated for today's times. I won't spoil it, but I will say if you've read that comic book story, you'll probably figure out what I'm talking about.

And a while back, BOF said that the scenes at the U of W were for the Mayor's office. So just now, I went thru Batman #1, looking for something that could possibly fit in with the mayor of Gotham in TDK, and I came across a section in "The Joker Returns" where (SPOILERS) a man named Edgar Martin publically talks about bringing down The Joker, and The Joker, being displeased with Martin's talk, sends a radio message to him telling him he'd die at 10PM. Martin, surrounded by policemen, sits down to play some cards, when he cuts himself on the side of one card. It then turns out that all the cards in the deck are Joker cards, and that cut had released Joker venom into his body, killing him and fixing his mouth in a horrible grin (/SPOILERS).

After reading both Joker stories in Batman #1, that one scene fits in with the mayor the best. So, just out of curiousity, how do you think this scene would be updated for today's times?

Well it gives you an insight to the story of TDK which some may not wish to know.

My guess is he'll do his announcing via tv, ala Man Who Laughs (he did the whole announcing to kill people before hand thing in that, just updated...it was essnetially a modernization of Batman #1, as LotDK #50 was before it)...although the internet way would also make sense...him hacking sites with things like IBelieveInHarveyDentToo.com

I mean, he already did the tv thing in Batman '89, so why not update it even further with an untraceable internet webcast that he sends out before his killings?

Well I'm sure if they do tv, it'll be much more like Man Who Laughs (walks in, shoots the newscaster, steals the van so he can broadcast whenever he wants to)...but like I said, internet is a good idea too :o

I just can't picture Joker as some internet hacker, it's just too...weird to imagine. :O
