Don't read if you haven't seen the movie. I will bold the titles and hide the content to make it easier. If there is already a thread like this, please merge/close. Thank you.

_
"Chief" introduces Jack Nicholson'sMcMurphy's to a pillow.
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

Midnight Cowboy.

_
Robert Shaw's Quint goes fishing
Jaws.

This thread seems dead. Oh, the irony:woot:.

Hahaha!

I would have contributed earlier but I couldn't think of any off the top of my head that are worthy of "greatest". Maybe later when i'm off of work.

I assume you mean the two good King Kong movies, not that abomination from the 70's.

^ That is correct.

A few more:

John Cazale's Sal gets shot
Dog Day Afternoon.

John Hurt "gives birth" to the Alien
Alien.

Joe Pesci gets "made"
Goodfellas.

No Country for old men

Chigurh killing the bird with the air compressor for the hell of it.

Shutter Island

When Dicaprio's character kills his wife after finding his children dead .. the whole scene was powerful and emotional.

The Departed

Costigan stepping out of the elavator and blam, didnt see it coming

The ultimate bad guy dies a hero.

Jack Nicholson's Jack Torrance frozen to death
The Shining.

Tom Hulce's Mozart death scene
Amadeus.

ET dies, but comes back to life
ET.

Definitely not one of "the greatest," but Kaneda's death in Sunshine was quite an experience, especially set to that awesome piece by John Murphy.

Heat
When Detective Hanna almost gets surprised by Neil in the field at the airport. The mutual respect they both have for one another increases the effectiveness of the scene, Hanna holds Neils hand as he passes.

Once Upon a Time in The West
When Henry Fonda loses the dual with Harmonica, and finally realizing who he is as he dies

Darkman
Peyton Weslake holding the corpurate tycoon by his ankle. Listening to him try to negotiate with Peyton to let him live. Peyton closes his eyes and lets him fall to his death.

This was my absolute favorite for years and that touch at the end adds more meaning.

Sunshine

When Mace ( Evans ) dies somewhat sacrificially to save everyone after being kind of a jerk until that point. Chris Evans best acting by far.

"David...if you kill him, he will win."

_ Cool:up:.

Dead Zone

Christopher Walken's sacrifice

The Magnificent Seven

Brad Dexter's death scene

Die Hard

Alan Rickman's Hans Gruber plunges to his death

The Outlaw Josey Wales
Josey dry fires all his weapons at the officer who killed his family. Then he kills him with the mans own sword

"David...if you kill him, he will win."

One of my favorite endings and one of my favorite films.

The Deer Hunter
:
Christopher Walkin shoots himself in the head while playing Russian Roulette with his brother in the film Robert De Niro.

^ Great one:up:. I forgot about it.

The Fly

"Brundlefly" gets a merciful death

T2

The T1000 falls into a vat of molten steel, soon followed by the T800. But I guess they can just make more of them:woot:

Robin and Marian

Sean Connery's Robin Hood and Audrey Hepburn's Maid Marian are united forever in death

Chilling, random, and sets the tone for the rest of the movie.
