I'll be honest, I'm not feeling what I saw at all..

When I saw the E3 reveals for the likes of the Arkham games or Spider-Man, they just looked a hell of a lot better both graphics & gameplay wise. You almost knew they were going to be good, particularly the Arkham games after you knew how good the first one was.

I didn't get that at all from this Avengers, the graphics certainly leave a lot to be desired & the character designs seem quite lazy in the sense that they look like they've took heavy inspiration from some of their MCU's counterparts but somehow made them worse.. particularly with Cap & especially Thor who looked appalling IMO. Black Widow & Bruce Banner/Hulk look like a near direct copy just with different faces.

It was unclear what actually was gameplay footage (if any) & what was cut-scene stuff, I presume the close up back shots of Iron Man, Thor & Hulk were all gameplay, but again doesn't really reveal anything.

What is very worrying is usually at E3, game developers crank their games up to the max, making them look as best as possible & then come release time the graphics etc get dulled down for performance reasons.. so more than likely, this is as good as the game will look visually which is disheartening.

At the moment, not too impressed (and I have to go with a lot of comments that I've seen on Youtube, where the heck is Hawkeye?!).... and instead of being excited I find myself more annoyed that Tomb Raider got put on hold for this?!

Gameplay would have to be awesome and/or there better be a solid solo-story line that can be played (I'm not big on online playing) otherwise, I'll pass.

The starting team is 5 members but we know Hank Pym shows up in the story. So I wonder if he joins team midway and if unlockable right away

seriously, I'm just baffled how hundreds of people at Crystal Dynamics, dozens at Marvel Games and Marvel Entertainment, all saw this and thought it looked good... although Marvel did sign off on those ugly-ass MvC infinite designs too, so maybe everyone who works at Marvel Games is legally blind? Idk, it's all I can come up with...

To the people saying "we didn't get gameplay" ... I'm pretty sure we did? There were obvious short scenes of Avengers fighting that looked like gameplay to me, especially the bit with BW. Besides, I believe the footage starts with a caption that mentions that the trailer was made using in-game graphics, so that's basically what the game looks like for now.

If Cap really is killed off in the prologue and you hardly get to play as him I'm not sure I will bother with this.

We have all been waiting years for an Avengers game where we get to play as the original 6 and I may not be able to play as Cap?! Awful decision if true.

Have to agree with others about the graphics and character designs too.

Unless the gameplay is AMAZING this is going to need serious work to get us all hyped now.

If you can swap skins and put a movie costume on them, and the skins will appear in cutscenes, then the game will look... less awful, but still pretty damn bad

in game, it may not be terrible, because you only see them from behind
but if I do purchase this (on sale on PS+) I'll be skipping every cutscene

In theory, it should, because the cutscenes appear to be in-engine. Not gonna be optimistic about how you get alternate costumes...

I will say, it might have been better if they had lead with this, rather than end with it. Though, even being in the same presentation with that FF7 stuff wasn't a great idea. The FF7 is how you show off a game. The Avengers stuff was nothing.

Unfortunately. Might take a different direction if they actually show some in-depth gameplay, instead of just snippets of gameplay mixed with in-engine cinematics. The game is less than a year away, and we still don't know how it plays.

11 months is still a while but I'm sure someone like Game Informer or IGN will do a preview story soon enough with with details and screenshots

I seriously doubt they keep him dead. Even if he's legit dead in the story, and not just captured, they have a number of ways to bring him back. There'd be no point to advertise being able to play as Captain America, after they've shown him bite it in the Trailer. They are not putting all that effort into making Captain America playable, just to have him around for 1 Mission.

I doubt it's just going the be the story mode. They want to support the game for a long time and so dlc episode expansions or events will be probably coming

Yeah, I'm certainly not going to be a poster who trolls a thread if I don't like an IP, but everything about this game is hinging on the gameplay. I've already resigned myself to the fact this game won't be anything special, so at least give me some fun gameplay.
