Yeah I definitely think MS is thinking hard about buying WB games. It does suck for peeps with Xbox only cause they didn’t get Spider-man ps4 and won’t even get to play him in this. Is this how Disney is gets to keep Spidey in the MCU?

Sony and Disney/Marvel did strike a new deal recently, right? I wonder if Sony now owns the gaming rights to Spidey...

I doubt Microsoft care's much but I wonder if Phil Spencer or someone on top are annoyed that Nintendo got an exclusive marvel game as part of an old popular series, Sony made an exclusive Spider-Man game that started a new spidey franchise and now Sony not only got timed exclusivity to a beta for a third person marvel game but also claim to Spider-Man.

Maybe now they're thinking "okay we definently need to buy out WB games and make PC/Xbox home to DC Comics games"

If that happens, it'll be like old wrestling games where different consoles had rights to different franchises. In this case so far..

Throw in WB games for Microsoft and now we'd have Batman, Injustice and just anything new dc in general - Xbox Series X and so on. They'd probably remove DC Universe Online from Playstation and it does still have a lot of players on all platform despite being almost 10 years ago since it's still regularly being updated with new content. The removal would be ironic as a it started as a PS3 exclusive

lol marvel would NEVER give them rights over the comics. It isn’t hard to believe that exclusive Spiderman game rights were negotiated though especially as Disney doesn’t have its own gaming company.

At this point spiderman has been an avenger for like over a decade off an on. Add that in with the popularity of the movies and it seems like a given. I'd suggest wolverine and or beast could show up in this as they both have history as avengers too.

Not everybody can get two consoles and we shouldn't be forced to choose one because of exclusives. Maybe he prefers xbox but Spidey happens to be one of his favorite heroes

Yeah, that's not really a good approach to take. I own a PS4 and a Switch, but prefer to play on PC. Xbox/PC consumers will be paying for the same product, yet we will get the inferior one? Big yikes.

What if the warrior class in the next Elder Scrolls were to be exclusive to Xbox? "Well, get an Xbox!"

If people are okay with anti-consumer practices like content exclusives, then what's next? Feature exclusivity?

Why are you acting like this is something new. Marvel has been doing things like this since the first Ultimate Alliance game where certain heroes were available for certain consoles. Right now Sony owns the media rights to Spider-Man and Disney/Marvel are not getting those rights back no matter how much money they have unless Sony wants to sell. So fact of the matter is if you want to play a Spider-Man game buy the PS4 or PS5 and personally I would want for the PS5 to go on sell and buy the PS4 for cheap. I'm sorry but this is just good business. For example I am a huge Superman fan and when DC made Superman: Shadow of Apokolips I got it for the PS at the time however I didn't know they also released Man of Steel only for X-Box so in order to play that game I had to get an X-Box. Was I upset about that? Yes but it's a business and that's what businesses do. So I am sorry to be harsh but if you want to play as Spider-Man then you got to get a PS. This is nothing new.

You see, I view the name Avengers as a way to show every Marvel character they have. There’s really no point in holding back. Like Guardians in the Avengers movie. So bring them all on!

Yeah all of them have been on the team. Although i think the best way to handle xmen is in a solo game. One with this structure wouldn't be bad. Just as long as they have more team based missions.

The X-Men would just overshadow the Avengers in the Avengers' own game. Like I wouldn't complain if they ended up in this game... but this shouldn't be a Marvel Ultimate Alliance type game. Storm, Beast, the Wolverine, Rogue, Havok and Sunfire have joined the Avengers in the comiXs but they are first and foremost members of the X-Men.

Just give us a X-Men game. While this Avengers could utilize the Vision, Tigra, Black Knight Wonder Man, Hercules, She-Hulk, Spider-Woman, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Carol Danvers in the eXpansions.

I wouldn't mind X-Men characters being added to Avengers. However, I'd prefer if X-Men got their own game. We are LONG overdue for an X-Men game.

Maybe once the X-Men make their MCU debut, interest will pick back up and then we'll get a new X-Men game.

I'd prefer both. Why just one over the other? Some avenger members also deserve their own games.

I don't think 3 or 4 x-men characters added sometime after release will overshadow the whole game when the main and additional stories will revolve around the Avengers, which there will be many different type of members and the game also include solo missions focusing on certain characters and their story arcs

I have to agree. Actually it seems like this game is being pushed more for PS users after reading that article.

There's always a chance considering the plan is to support the game for years with new content including characters and story missions

Yeah, I can't see a large playerbase on PC for this. It certainly doesn't help that crossplay is not in the works. Seems like Destiny all over again...

I'm not a fan of the Wolverine, so I wouldn't bat an eye if he becomes a X-box eXclusive.

Yeah, the fact that its Spider-man puts it on another level. We don't even know if Xbox is getting an exclusive, at which point you have a clear inferior version.

Spider-Man being exclusive also means exclusive costumes, cut scenes, gear, story missions and possibly map locations if his story missions include being at the Daily Bugle or somewhere in NY involving him.

Maybe even exclusive collectibles like Spidey comics
