Yeah, I am worried about what this game actually is. It honestly sounds like it is built to grab that cash more then anything:
Don't get mad at Sony this is Marvel's doing and at the end of the day Sony is just applying good business tactics. As I have suggested before wait until the PS5 comes out and then just pick up a PS4 for 150-200.This is some Ferengi level greed from Sony. Spiderman, the biggest Marvel character is only avalaible on the PS? WEAK!
And really, who doesn't have a spare 200 bucks laying around in the middle of a pandemic expected to get worse by the end of the year!Don't get mad at Sony this is Marvel's doing and at the end of the day Sony is just applying good business tactics. That's like saying why even by the game during a pandemic when it will cost between$60-$100 (depending on the edition you get) or why even release any new games or anything not essential at all during this time. And really, who doesn't have a spare 200 bucks laying around in the middle of a pandemic expected to get worse by the end of the year!![]()
What? You do realize you turned a $60 purchase into a $300 one when you start considering tax, right? Slight difference when it comes to budgeting. That's like saying why even by the game during a pandemic when it will cost between$60-$100 (depending on the edition you get) or why even release any new games or anything not essential at all during this time.
Actually I turned a $60 purchase to more or less a $210 purchase because you should be able to find a PS4 for 150 or less. Also you missed the point completely. Once again people know years before the pandemic Spider-Man was exclusive to Sony and that in order to play a Spider-Man game you will have to get a PS. Even before this game Marvel is known for making certain heroes exclusive to certain consoles. As I have said before their is a solution to it but you just might have to wait before being able to act on that solution. Just like if Microsoft purchased WB Games and all the DC heroes become exclusive to the Xbox you're not going to see me complaining about it. Either I have to make to decision to just be fine with not playing those games or set aside money to go and buy Xbox when I can. What? And yet you knew since about 2017 Spider-Man is exclusive for the most part to Sony and Insomniac. Marvel and Disney pretty much confirmed that in interviews as well as Sony. So that gave 3 years for people who really want to play as Spider-Man to go and get a PS. And 2 years after the release of the game to get one since we all knew with how big and how well the Spider-Man game was received it was getting a sequel. And yet, I can play Spider-man on a Nintendo console. It isn't nearly as clear as you make it seem.
And then, there is the fact that as of now, there is clearly one inferior version.
Why is the internet acting like console-exclusive characters are new? Soul Caliber did it back in the day. That was what most of their advertising centered on.
Even the Ultimate Alliance games did it.
Or were people pissed about it then too, and the internet just didn't make it easy for people to ***** about it?

The words "pretty much" are doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Also it doesn't change the issue with the practice. But hey, why would people expect a company to actually make the same game for all those purchasing it...And yet you knew since about 2017 Spider-Man is exclusive for the most part to Sony and Insomniac. There's a pretty massive gap between a game and buying a whole new console near the end of it's life to play, I'm left to assume, one game. Like it or dislike it, this isn't the same thing as if a studio works exclusively for one console and you know that going in, it's a studio making the same game for two consoles...but cutting the most popular character in the roster out of one version. As a Playstation user, I'd be able to play it no problem. But people are allowed to be annoyed about it and not want to cough up hundreds of dollars for a console.Actually I turned a $60 purchase to more or less a $210 purchase because you should be able to find a PS4 for 150 or less. Oh don't get me wrong I agree you can be annoyed about it. I was upset when I had to buy an Xbox just to play Superman: Man of Steel. Then was even more upset when i had to mod it just to play a Conan game since i live in the US. But what i am saying is this isn't Sony fault this is all on Marvel and Disney who over time and time again display bad business practices with their heroes and are only now learning from their mistakes. They did it with Spider-Man, Daredevil, Punisher, F4, X-Men. That's who you should be upset with or the developers of the game. Or you can wait and see who the exclusive might be for Microsoft before getting upset. First-party exclusives are a different beast. Studios owned by a certain company and developing original games for said company's box only is understandable. To another extent, there are timed exclusives because moneyhats are usually involved but there are cases where a platform holder fairly helped with development costs on a specific game.I understand why people are upset...but I don't understand how people are surprised.
Gating off content is the sole way that consoles get people to buy their product over competitors. It's been that way since the NES vs Sega Genesis days. Entire GAMES being console exclusive doesn't drive this much anger. It's just confusing.
