The PS2 era produced some great Marvel games. The X-Men Legends games, Ultimate Alliance, Hulk Ultimate Destruction, Spiderman 2, Ultimate Spider-man. That was a good era for Marvel games.

The X-Men Legends games are still among my favourite comics-based games.

I hope this game rebounds. The Kate Bishop DLC will at least show us how deep the rabbit hole goes for DLC content. It better be substantive.

The Avengers as of now is being outclassed by Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Not even close

I think their biggest hurdle is them losing money on the game and not making it back yet. It will be interesting to see if they can even deliver on some of the content promised. To be honest I'm skeptical they can convince enough players to come back or new players to sign up to make it worthwhile.

I am wondering how long they can keep the game going myself. I hope at least until Spider-Man debuts. Just so we can see what 3-4 DLC additions look like for the game

I'd have to imagine that they'd at least make it that far before going quite on any roadmap. It's multiplat so I don't see Sony being as invested as they would a solo Spidey title, but it would be an embarrassment all round if they're platform exclusive never came to pass.

I don't do multiplayer so may as well wait for a few more story elements to be added. Do still plan on getting this at some point for that reason, but hoping for a bit more SP content first.

I think its both. The story content (Im assuming the one with fancy cutscenes) is for single player, then the added characters like Kate will be available for the new multiplayer missions. Its basically an eXpansion if I'm not mistaken.

If they could do a better job of differentiating both single player content and multiplayer stuff, I would reinstall the game. I haven’t played it since opening weekend when I beat the campaign.

no interest in multiplayer and everything it entails, and that’s where they seem to be focusing all their energy. If only the avengers had a studio like insomniac or rocksteady.

Wouldn't that be nice? Given how successful the movies are, we should have gotten solo games for Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and Thor by now, leading to a huge Avengers game. I think aside from the Spider-Man games, the only solo console game (that isn't a movie tie in) we got in the 2010s is the Deadpool game and twas before the movie came out. While the X-Men haven't had their own console game with plenty of playable characters since X-Men Legends 2! That was back in 2005!

It's actually a fun game imo. A bit predictable and light on enemies from the comics, but it doesn't cost the same as a full AAA game. Though it is a shame ee don't have a big budget standalone Iron-man game.

Kate Bishop is so much fun to play! They did such a good job adding another solid new hero to the game, it actually has me pretty excited for the future of the game again. Super fun gameplay and abilities, interesting traversal with the teleporting. Finally getting new story content was great, even if the actual gameplay was a lot of the same type of stuff with the AIM labs, etc. But that cliffhanger though!

And I love seeing her added to the home screen. Can't wait to see it (hopefully) start getting packed soon.

Them standing like that is really reminiscent in choosing characters in Ultimate Alliance.

I am glad people seem to be enjoying the DLC. That seems to be the game they wanted to make in the first place, before being side tracked by their publisher. Maybe it will make this worth a purchase done the line for me. That said, it does seem telling that the first thing I have seen receive near universal praise for this game came out 3 months after launch.

I finally picked it back up last week for part of the Kate Bishop dlc. This game is unbelievably repetitive.
