^With any luck we may get an extended edition down the line showing all of this stuff, I know I am not that big on Trek lore, but didnt think a Romulan could take down one Klingon, let alone multiple one's.

That would be great. If they have the deleted scenes on the DVD even as extras, there is a chance to rip them and then insert them into the movie yourself.

Romulans are an offshoot of Vulcans, so they have greater strength than humans and almost comparable strength to Klingons. Generally a Klingon would win in a hand to hand fight between them and a Vulcan simply because they are more savage in a fight than a Vulcan. But Romulans are more of a savage fighter than the Vulcans. At the time that this takes place....no one really knows much about Romulans (they don't find out about the Vulcan connection until years later in original continuity)....so a Romulan taking a Klingon by surprise (especially one as insane with rage as Nero is) is not out of the question.

thanks for anwering me i thought they were simular creature from stark trek 2 with khan. Thanks for the correction. Also i cant wait for dvd to come out to check out other scenes that might be included.

When is DVD coming out? I really want to see this movie again.

Not so sure about that........
Vulcans are stronger than humans and in the instances where Kirk provokes Spock to violence, Kirk realizes he will be greatly overmatched, recognizing the great danger Spock's strength poses for him. Spock is only half Vulcan so it is not unreasonable to assume that a full Vulcan would be stronger still. Kirk, and other human crew members of Enterprise(even Chekov) are capable of going toe to toe with Klingons. By extrapolation it should follow that Vulcans are also much stronger than Klingons.

It is true that Klingons are more savage and barbaric in nature, however Vulcans possess a history equally barbaric and savage, logic being their emotional savior.

Many times Spock has alluded to how dangerous Vulcan's can be, and how quickly and efficiently they can deliver a fatal blow, when it becomes logical to do so of course, which should at the least negate the advantage of the savagery of a Klingon adversary.

Did anyone else watch the 2009 Scream awards on SPIKE tonight? It showed the deleted scene of Nero being interogated by a Klingon, and then escaping.

I did and I hope that gets put back into the film on DVD. :yay:

^I agree that they should have kept the klingon scenes. I also really liked the Vulcan-Human family clip and Kirk Brothers (just because they might use him in a sequel and I had no idea kirk had a brother)
Awesome!!! :wow:...thank-you!!

Yeah, Sam Kirk.

He didn't fair too well in the original series... :(

"Kirk apologizes to...not Gaila"

:lmao: smooooth, so very smoooooth Jim!! :cwink: lol

Defo agree, all the Klingon parts should of been kept in, it makes Nero's story make more sense!!

George Samuel Kirk (Kirk's older brother): http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/George_Samuel_Kirk

I'm waiting to watch the deleted scenes when I get the Blu Ray. I want to be able to look forward to everything on the special features.

But damn it's tempting...

Why is he being called 'Johnny' here?

In the film?

Because they cut all the scenes with him. So in the one shot we see of him while Jim is driving, they changed it so he says Johnny. That way there's no mention of Sam.

George Samuel Kirk was to appear in 2009's Star Trek, where he would have been played by Spencer Daniels. Scenes featuring Daniels as Sam Kirk were filmed, but the character was entirely cut from the final release. The one remaining scene of Daniels playing Sam Kirk, in which Jim Kirk calls out to him as he's driving past him in their step-father's corvette, was altered to change the name of Daniels' character to "Johnny", apparently a friend of Jim's

Would of been cool, if they kept the "Kirk Brothers" scene...

Thanks guys for explaining, must admit its a shock to know Vulcan's and Romulan's can hang with Klingon's in a fight, never would have guessed that to be honest as what little I know of Trek lore the Klingon's are the bad-asses.

REALLY wish the Klingon scene's would have stayed, I liked Nero anyway, but those scene's within the movie would have made his character even better.

Also thought Kirk apologising to not...Gaila was hilarious!

Hey, Maybe someone here can help me.

I've been looking for a pic of the NEW Enterprise bridge illustration like this one...

I've looked all over the web but all I can find is this...

Anyone here have or know where I can find a bridge illustration from the new Enterprise?

I don't see why any of those scenes should have been cut to be frank. Well, I mean except for getter a shorter runtime so they can play it more times per day in theaters.

The Klingon scenes stick out an extra bit as beeing scenes they should've kept in.

Don't think you'll find any Nu-Trek Enterprise bridge illustration anytime soon, those above illustrations were for the Star Trek Fact files, and they stopped making them in 2002/2003 if I remember right.

The only things those scenes do is interrupt the flow of the movie a bit, compared to the way it's edited now. Especially the Klingons and Kirk's brother. But they definitely would have made for a more cohesive story. We wouldn't have all that "So Nero waited around for 25 years? Why didn't he just go to Romulus and warn them?" stuff.

I'm really tempted to buy a blu-ray player so I can buy the blu-ray edition of Star Trek, but my wife will think I'm nuts for buying a player for this. :(
