Star Trek Sequel

forget Khan re do "Where no man has gone before." Pure silver eye goodness

i really want to see re-imagined stuff from the 60s series...which is the spirit of these movies.

Klingons are a must.

No to Khan. At least not yet. Besides...they already mentioned the Klingons in the first movie with dread in their tone...as if they are currently at war with them or about to be.

No, they're not. They've been in almost every Star Trek movie to date.

I think the Klingons will be in the second film, but I'm iffy on whether they should be the main villains. I think it would be interesting if the Romulans were the go to, stock villains of the new movies like the Klingons were in the TOS movies.

I don't want to see Khan again, I just don't think they can recreate that magic or add something different to the character like Heath Ledger did with the Joker. Part of what made TWOK work was the history between Khan and Kirk. It was something palpable and I don't know if they can recreate that. I wouldn't mind seeing them introduce Carol Marcus though.

There are other TOS villains they could go with like Gary Mitchell, who would have a more personal tie to Kirk, or Garth of Izar, who Kirk admired. There's the M-5 computer, Trelane (a possible Q?), and others that could get more attention without retreading Khan. Nero to some extent was a Khan retread already so I would like to see them go in another direction.

Two TOS races never explored were the Tholians and Gorn. Both could be awesome adversaries. There's also the Orion Syndicate.

Personally I would like to see a remake of "The Enterprise Incident", but with a more beefed role and a name for the Romulan commander. Perhaps throw Section 31 into the mix and it could be a nice espionage story.

It would also be cool to see totally new villains, but there is a part of me that would like to see the Romulans, Gorn, and Tholians get more development, also to see Section 31 in the Kirk-era.

or maybe they can do the one where the go to the planet that believes its in 1920's chicago with the mobs..."we want our piece of the action"

For the next couple movies, I'd prefer to stay away from any more Klingons or Romulans or any villain or race that was a point of focus of any of the previous films.

I seriously don't want to see the Klingons in the next movie. I really feel that they have been done enough (series TV and films).

Enterprise explored the Orion Syndicate so I am more willing to see the Tholians or the Gorns for the next movie. Finally exploring their homeworld, battleships, culture, etc. It could be an invasion storyline to expand territory (neither of those races are a part of the Federation).

Yeah, for some reason, I'd be cool with never seeing a Klingon again in the Trek universe. They just seem so cheesy to me anymore. The only Klingon villain I ever really liked was General Chang (Christopher Plummer) in The Undiscovered Country (still, they couldn't think up a better name to give him than Chang?). I'd like to see more new races.

Oh but please God don't ever bring the Ferengis in.

I like the idea that was kicked around over in the other thread dealing with the Federation falling under the threat of collapse. Perhaps involving a conspiracy being orchestrated by some Klingons with rogue elements from some Federation planets.

Kirk's "The needs of many outweigh the needs of the few" line should be in this film. Kirk needs to grow more as a character and I think after the first film he still has to fill in the boots as captain.

I still dig "Star Trek: Extinction" as a title.

I would really like to see an Andorian threat of some kind.
The Andorians have a really good look for the big screen but their story was very fleshed out during Enterprise's run on TV. Jeffery Combs did a great job bringing his character to life.

I personally would like to see Klingons...Im new to this star trek stuff but when I use to think of Star trek there were a few things that came to mind instantly: Vulcans, The Enterprise, Spock, Klingons, etc

I would however like to see another redesign because the 'redesign' looks a bit ridiculous.

I think they should feel free to make their own alien species and not feel obligated to use primarily the ones from the series

I'm getting sick at even the mention of the name Klingons.

Khan Noonien Singh

That Khan casting is simply brilliant! I really like Carbonell. Plus I am not a Trekkie: I know Khan only by reading about him and Trek fans seem to worship him as a character and "WoK" as a movie. So, I am 100% for him to be introduced in the sequel.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Klingons or Khan as villains, although I'd rather see them go in another direction with a different villain that sets up either the Klingons or Khan for the third movie. I just don't want the Romulans as the center villain for a third straight movie. They can be included as helping to secretly increase tensions between the Klingons and Federation through another race like the Gorn, maybe supplying them with technology, but don't have the Romulans be the focal point again.
