Well, the Enterprise doesn't have to split into three (Prometheus had six nacelles, after all). Seeing the Prometheus link just made me think of it.

Well, if you want to figure out a way to work it, go for it. Otherwise, I'm cool sticking with the regular separation into two sections.

I say keep it to two parts. The Constitution/Galaxy class can't really be separated into three parts. The saucer with the neck and the engine area with the nacells.

The saucer. The neck with frontal half of engineering and the nacelles and the back half.

Will there be civilians on board? And if so, will we actually use saucer separation/life pods in emergency situations instead of, y'know, not doing that like TNG did.

We'll see how it goes, but I would like for the ship separation to happen more than once down the road. Would also like to use it as a strategic advantage as well.

As for civilians, I'm sure there are some on board.

Sorry about wanting all the details, but I'm sort of a numbers guy when it comes to the ships. And I was thinking about a Vaughn post I'm planning.

About how many people are going to be on the ship? Crew and civilains included.

Only reason I ask is to help figure out the size of the medical staff. I'm thinking three doctors and between 4-6 nurses in the sick bay.

Well, the D had a crew of 1,014. The E had 855. So figure, unless we're make the F very big, around 1,000 tops?

Yeah, one-thousand sounds good for crew size. As for families, since it's pretty much a mobile military base, I'd say crewmen may have their families with them if they so wish.

I also had an idea for a "One of a kind" character

TOS = The Vulcan, Spock (The very first)
TNG = The Android, Data
DS9 = The Changeling, Odo. I would also add Dax but Trill are kinda well known
VOY = The Borg, Seven Of Nine. Also the children
ENT = ??

I was inspired by an X-Men comic of all things. In it the Danger Room gains sentience and creates a body for itself and challenges the X-Men to a fight to the death.

So would it be a good idea to have the ship in one episode to gain momentary sentience? This sentience then copies itslef into a mechanical humanoid body. But unlike Data, it looks like a machine, maybe bit of Cylon, maybe bit of Robocop. Also, it would have a dynamic personality like The Doctor but prone to mood swings.

Just throwing in ideas.

Doesn't matter to me, far as type of ship goes. Whatever the majority agrees upon is what the Enterprise will be.

I'm cool with the Century class Enterprise. That gets my vote.

I don't think that's really necessary. I personally always thought mandating a stock "outsider looking in on humanity" character for each series was kind of silly, especially since DS9, with it's grand total of one regular, and five recurring 100% human characters out of it's 30 something cast, kind of demolished that tradition.

But I'm against the name Enterprise. Hell it should be Prometheus-B considering it supposedly has that ship's MULTI VECTOR ASSAULT MODE!!!

I don't care about having MVAM. Prometheus had 6 nacelles, giving each section warp power.
