Star Wars 30th Anniv. DVDs

I've never read a Stephen King book

It was Da Vinci who said it if my memory serves.

Your imagination comment is ...interesting, to say the least. You could argue(And I believe Lucas has) that CGI and more recent technology has made his imagination possible. Are you suggesting that imagination is better left persued than found?

And again, I understand and agree with keeping the originals available. They are; I don't get the argument that they are not, it's simply untrue.

As for Stephen King, perhaps you should check him out.

So before the technology we have today, did Lucas never imagine? Or is he just saying it now because he can use the current technology.

I'll pass on Stephen King

Well announcements about DVD releases for the month of May have started and June has very little, so if they are going to do a 30th Anniversary DVD Release I would imagine the news would be out soon if they were doing a late May release.

i alwasy wanted to see the star wars christmas special :)

Trust us, you don't wanna see it. It's horrible sht, but as a Star Wars fan I forced myself to watch it. The only watchable part of it is the Boba Fett animation.

Lucas is money hungry, and solo shot first.

Actually, Han does not shoot first. He just shoots. To say he shot first implies that Greedo shot as well.

I like the way you explained that.:woot: Solo shot ,and Geedo died. Then Solo apologized for the mess.

As for Lucas's artistic impulses, who are we to say what he does or does not have? If your passion is your profession, and your profession is your art, then advancing technology could very well be his art. Your argument on what is art sounds like someone trying to say that rap isn't music. :whatever:

LOL, how did you arrive at that conclusion? :woot:

And it depends on the rap.

Old school stuff such as Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5, Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest, Digital Underground, and others that I forget- that's music.

Well at least we agree on something. Although Mos Def has impressed me, and he's fairly current.

Lucas Planning New Star Wars DVD
Source: The Associated Press
February 10, 2007

In an Associated Press reports on Hasbro's earnings, it states that "Star Wars" will remain a force to be reckoned with:

Looking ahead, Verrecchia said he expected Star Wars to continue to be a strong performer with Lucas planning a video release for this year's 30th anniversary, a Star Wars animated TV show next year and a live-action Star Wars TV show in 2009.

"He and his studio have a lot going on over the next several years to support the franchise," Verrecchia said.

We'll keep you updated on these three projects.

So is it too late for a May 2007 release or are they going to have a November release. Lucasfilm also has the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles on DVD, Indiana Jones 4 in theatres and DVD and probably another Indiana Jones DVD box set.

Looking forward to see what changes will be on these dvds.

Eh, there is already thread for the 30th Anniversary DVD release.

Eh, there is already thread for the 30th Anniversary DVD release.

Tell Mirko to fix the search :o & personally I just want a "Complete Collection" where we have one big super duper ass Star Wars DVD with all movies & all versions of the movies which would be nice especially now that the original original original trilogy editions are now out on DVD now we just need a super complete collection with more special features.

Thank goodness. I haven't bought a Star Wars DVD in like 2 years. :)

There definitely needs to be some sort of incentive for people to buy this set. It's more than likely gonna be a Saga Boxset, to celebrate the 30th Anniversary. I hope they fix the RUBBISH lightsaber fx from the '04 DVDs as well as adding CG Yoda into TPM and give TPM a transfer clean up. They'd be the minimum changes I'd expect if I was to buy yet another Boxset!
