A look at the game's single-player campaign.

Electronic Arts and DICE have released a four-minute Star Wars Battlefront IIdeveloper diary that goes behind the scenes on the game’s single-player campaign.


Star Wars Battlefront II is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17. An open beta will run from October 6 through October 9. Users who pre-order the game will get access to the beta two days early on October 4.

Nearly 400 gameplay stations available at its booth.

Electronic Arts will host a “Live Show” at Gamescom 2017 on August 21 at 9:30 a.m. PT / 12:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. CET where it will showcase “new gameplay, live matches, and a few surprises,” the company announced.




At its Gamescom 2017 booth, it will have nearly 400 gameplay stations for Star Wars Battlefront II, Need for Speed: Payback, FIFA 18, Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tsar, and mobile games including Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes and FIFA Mobile.




The company promises to share “exciting news from game teams” over the next couple of weeks about what they’ll be sharing at Gamescom 2017.




Gamescom 2017 runs from August 22 to 26.

We already know the other game was rushed and put out quickly. I still had a blast and a lot of fun playing it. But yes this is the full game we've wanted and are finally getting.

I liked the other game as well for what it was. Hoth and other locations never looked so good.

I play SWTOR. The pc I have now is pure crap at the moment bbut that will eventually change when I get a spanking new gaming pc.

I really didn't mind the "rushness" of the first BF. I loved it, did 233 hours on it (so far) and never had bore with it for a minute.

That said, I can't wait enough for the new one! It really feels like a grand improvement.

One question, though. Everyone seemed to brag about the crate box system. I am wondering why since you can buy the crate boxes with in-game currency (which you earn by playing and not spending real money)?

Also (following my previous question), since I will be in my last year of university, I really won't be able to spend full time on the game and will only occasionally play it. However, do you think I will be much behind other players who will pay real money for those special boxes? I really won't be able to spend additional money on the game after the initial purchase (being a student), that's why I am asking.

Really hope EA won't make it too disadvantageous for players like me...

Live gameplay reveal set for Gamescom 2017.

Electronic Arts and DICE have released a new gameplay trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II revealing the game’s “Starfighter Assault” mode.


In “Starfighter Assault,” players become pilots and fight in space battles set across locations from all three cinematic Star Wars eras. Space combat is said to be “vastly improved and expanded” with “superior controls, deeper customization, and role-based team play featuring an all new class-based system.”


Electronic Arts will debut live gameplay of “Starfighter Assault” during its live show at Gamescom 2017 streaming on EA.com on August 21 at 9:30 a.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. CET, where 24players will face of in a dogfight in the “Fondo: Imperial Shipyard” map.

I'm leaning toward the standard edition of this and just grinding out whatever are the bonuses included in the Elite Trooper version. Mostly interested in the solo campaign anyway.

I'm hyped for both pretty much equally (which is rare). I really found the first game to be a really fun pick up and play, and quite fun even when losing haha! (which is even rarer)
