EA Star Wars: Battlefront II

I dare say the Mouse had a few words to say about it. Fingers crossed this is the first step to ridding the industry of this nonsense.

They will absolutely put them back in, because they've said as much in their press release. "At a later date, only after we've made changes to the game". What those changes are remains to be seen.

There is the gambling issue. If that gets some traction, they probably won't be able to put them back in. Especially with kids. But I doubt it will.

I get the feeling they won't because there's enough focus on this issue now with people asking serious questions about whether or not this constitutes gambling. Disney does not want to be associated with encouraging something towards kids that, whilst not meeting the legal definition of gambling, certainly has all the hallmarks of it. I think the industry got a huge wake up call from this event.

yep while the loot box's don't really count as gambling.

But what EA chose to do with was too questionalbe. and anyone doing similar like what warrner bro's entertaiment onthe games side was almost accused of and parts of activision (not blizzard) will get questioned, for how close they made to that. the one's that made icosmeticci and did it for the orginal purpose to get new content out and save people tget dlc inbetter way will be fine.

The others that tried to manipulate it. if they continue will be in trouble.
The latter half ruined the original purpose of the loot box's cause they got greedy perusual

The last thing they want are regulations about this. If they don't police themselves now and quit this practice eventually governments are going to step in and make the decision for them.

This is all true but most of people that are being put in power alot seem to be people of corrupt back ground these days, that have ether alligations or are people that have this greed thing with them that are always trying to cheat tghe customers. and it seems that's all through out the entertaiment inustry as whole there are pop up of sexual allegations too , to add to it all .

It hasn't shown up in battle front yet, and hopefully it doesn't . but man it's showing up every where there accusation about with naughty dog and it sank marvel heroes omega next to the fact the current CEO of gaz (that made the game before he got into power there before he took over.) is plain abusive to his workers. alot of people are saying there's a cras h coming for thegames industry . if they're not careful it'll be cause of these reasons.

it's in holly wood too with Tv and movies. but ithey might not get as damaged as the games industry which is still younger then it. these thing's have done major damage already so far withthe games industry.

So for anyone else that is actually playing the game who is enjoying it? I’ve been playing a lot the last few nights after work and having a blast with it. Been playing mostly Galactic Assault and love going from match to match playing in the different eras. Played a match yesterday on Kashyyyk attacking it at night. Was awesome.

Also enjoying the campaign. Very cool to see things from a different perspective and events that are of importance.

Played around 1 hour total yesterday (exactly at midnight). A few GA and HvV games.

The game is an absolute blast. So much fun. I am also glad EA are starting to go in the right direction with the removal of crystals.

I could see them returning the in-game purchases towards the end of the game's lifespan. It could be way to encourage people who might otherwise pass on the game because they'd be so far behind. If the price has dropped fairly significantly, I could absolutely see people wishing to pick up the game at a later date and then 'fast-track' their way to similar a similar achievement level to that of those who had the game earlier.

Not saying they *should* do it, but I think that would be least painful and most fair way if they absolutely insisted on bringing it back.

I'll wait with my purchase of the game, until we have definitive answer to the direction of the game. If the Loot boxes offer nothing but cosmetic items, I'll give that as pass and buy the game. If they are going back to offering gameplay advantages for real money, they can go to hell. Also they better remove the credit limit from the arcade/offline mode.

They'll be back. It's even possible EA planned for this to happen. This was their official message:

How was it not their intention? They designed a game where people with more money to spend had a built-in advantage.

Idiotic.

I don't really care about all the noise around the micro transactions. Sure, it's ******, but I'm just here to play the occasional round of Battlefront. I'm here to dip my toe into the Star Wars universe as a means to have fun. Same as I did with the last one. It had problems, but I enjoyed it as an arcade shooter. There are too many other things to get angry about for me to expel any outrage on this game and EA's nonsense.

If it was just this game I wouldn't be that upset, but it isn't. It's indicative of an industry-wide, anti-consumer practice that can only be changed by people not giving their money to it. I'm not here to sit in judgement over anybody who has bought the game, but for me, as much as I still want to play it, I just can't bring myself to get it.

So you didn't care that you had to originally spend 40 hours of optimal playtime, just to unlock Darth Vader, who was free in the first game? Sure, after all the complaints, it's now down to maybe 10 hours, but that's still a ridiculous amount of time to spend, unlocking Star Wars's most iconic character.

Or the fact that they added a cap on how many credits you can earn in arcade mode, because it would be unfair if players exploited the system, to farm credits and buy loot boxes, giving them an unfair advantage over other players. Yet you can spend as much real money as you want, to buy those loot boxes.

They basically turned Battlefront II into the console equivalent of a pay-to-win mobile game.

As much as I hate to say this, I played for about seven hours
straight today. They've made a lot of changes from the first, that I enjoy.
They've really focused more on overall strategy, especially as it relates to
the heroes. I love how it encompasses all eras of Star Wars.

The only thing I wish they hadn't changed was Heroes Vs. Villains.
I wish it was the three heroes and foot soliders, and just not all heroes.

so i got my copy today, came with the Kylo Ren code *FOR A LIMITED TIME* ... the **** lol

Frankly the only choice EA could make here. I was confident EA & DICE would find a way to help make things right. Hopefully the repercussions will be felt across the industry & lootboxes/microtransactions in full price “AAA” games will ONLY be for cosmetic enhancements, if at all

The campaign is really cool, some interesting stuff goin on. It’s awesome that it’s canon too.

Just beat the campaign. Very good (especially the last mission) and can't wait for the Resurrection chapter next month!

Also have around 3-4 hours in Multiplayer and already have around 10-15 starcards (both from crates and having crafted some myself) and 30,000 + credits (stacking them up for the TLJ Season next month in order to get Finn and Phasma). The grind really isn't that bad so far, even though some of my earnings come from completed milestones. Without them, the grind gets much slower. The in-game earned credits really should be increased and not being based on time, but personal performance.

Other than that, this game is amazing! The immersion is phenomenal and in terms of content beats the first one by a mile! The gameplay is also pure, pure fun.
