Rebels Star Wars: Rebels

Are the clone wars worth watching? This show is making me debate diving into the star wars universe, although they are different shows; is the tone similar too each other and quality of writing how does that fare?

Personally I loved Clone Wars. There was a story arc or two which stunk, but the vast majority of the show was fantastic. Top notch action and great focus on the clones themselves, as well as giving us a much better look at why Anakin had such a heroic reputation -something we only really heard about in the films.

Oh ya, watch TCW. The first season (especially the first half) can be harder to get through. Season one is the weakest, but it gets better from there. Season 2 is an improvement, Season 3 is where they really hit their stride. Season 4, 5, and 6 are amazing.

I'll have to grind through it one weekend..just have to figure out how to get the gf out..with her friends...hmmm

So I know they said there was gonna be some link-ups between Starwars Rebels and Starwars VII, I'm guessing in terms of characters...I was just thinking what are the chances that it's the inquisitor..I feel nobody would expect it.

There was a runor that The Inquisitors (a special sect of sith) would feature in the story of the new film trilogy, but it may have been debunked by now. I think when they talk about link-ups they mean story threads and maybe introducing locations in the show that could feature in the new trilogy.

It's an episode centered on Ezra and his relationship to Zeb.

The party returns to Lothal.

The beginning was a bit slapstick but settled into an action-oriented groove with the stolen TIE fighter.

Not much of the other characters in the episode.

And it's a boring filler.

Left me feeling like: :sleepy:

I didn't think it was boring I found it funny I got the serialized vibe from it, even as a stand alone episode which is what I like.

I thought it was kool and just a nice episode.

I enjoyed the simple adventure of the episode that saw Ezra and Zeb's friendship develop, and the TIE Fighter action was neat, I wonder where those 2 stashed it. :D

First shot I've seen of the Vader scene that is being added into the pilot for the showing on ABC.

Ya I liked the new episode. It was simple, and really a character growth episode. I thought it was good fun. It's clear they are building these relationships while getting ready to start their main journey together.

It was interesting to see a TIE fighter being used as a gunship.

Though it does seem hard to believe that a TIE fighter wouldn't have some sort of windshield / canopy cleaning mechanism.

I enjoyed the episode. Also one thing? At this point Luke and Leia would be 14 correct? So Ezra is the exact same age as them? I feel like Leia can be added without muddying up any film continuity. Can't wait until the Inquisitor shows up!

I get the feeling that when The Inquisitor does show up, it'll be the first time we see the good guys lose a round.

I really liked the latest episode, it balanced the character exploration and action very well. Loving the humor too.

Although it was a "filler" episode, it showed how the group is coming together and I'm glad they got rid of the ezra / zeb argument relationship with this episode, as I feel that gets old fast. either way, I quite liked the episode, and look forward to the next, sucks these episodes are 30 minutes(22 on average?) because I've been spoiled by so many other shows in todays world.

Id love for this to be an hour long show. Or for them to play two episodes every week. 30 minutes a week just isnt enough.:(

I don't feel like it was filler, as bigdaddy313 and Grommers have suggested. This was (arguably) important character development. I enjoy getting to know the characters and their relationships with one another. This stuff has to be set up before it all gets knocked down, which as I briefly mentioned in my previous posts, is what I think will happen when they first encounter The Inquisitor.

How about a serialized filler? lol

I meant that they used a filler story to concentrate on the sub plot of Zeb and Ezra relationship, that's why I said I got a serialized vibe from the episode.

I love this show already it reminds me of Green Lantern the Animated Series, Spectacular Spider-Man and off cause Star Wars.

I hope the crew have influenced their nabor Marvel on how to do their shows.

A serialized character driven shows.

Will Rebels be presented in 2:35.1 on blu-ray and DVD like TCW was or in 1:78.1 like the broadcast?

Or they could have created a plot that could have actually mattered in the long run using elements that did not feel like a tie-in children's picture book when depicting an era about the "Dark Times". Now I know how ROTJ haters feel about Ewoks as I face palmed repeatedly as Stormtroopers were defeated by fruit. I mean I thought this was made by the same guy who created Young Justice?

The problem with franchises like this is that the writers probably really have their hands tied. They're probably not allowed to use certain things, like locations, characters, etc.

Even so, it's not brilliant writing, but I appreciate the constraints they must have. They can't just show Palpatine, Coruscant, Darth Vader, and massive battles.

Plus it is a kid's show (unlike Return of the Jedi, which just had scenes that seemed like they belonged in a kid's movie).

Even TCW, a show about a galaxy wide war run by a despot in disguise, had the occasional goofy episodes. Do you not recall those awful Jar Jar episodes?

Jar Jar should be the one getting booted from canon. But because he's in a movie, he gets special privileges. :csad: What a sad world we live in. :csad::csad:

Have you ever being hit by an apple let alone a pineapple before it hurts and it only hit one trooper which lost balance and his gun killed the other. It was a funny situation as the storm trooper said he only did all this for a piece of fruit.

But see that was only on Zeb and Ezra's part cause what they stumbled unto was part of the main plot which is oppression against civilians hence as Ezra stumbled upon some one he knew.

But the episode was mostly about the two's rivalry ending as they now understand each other, it's a very simple light episode don't Worry we got loads of time for some serious Plot, cause the team I trust more than anyone and they even said that they are not afraid to go to some dark places.

I don't believe that armoured Stormtroopers should get taken down by fruit.

They only stumble across it accidentally.
