Honestly, if things get too overloaded with Force-wielders, I'm just gonna drop Luke and play and Imperial general, just to give everyone else something to do.

That's why I plan on having Kyle primarily a blaster-weilding mercenary

Which is why I won't join. Maybe I forgot about reading that part after JB and I tossed around ideas and I came up with something I could do. But my character wouldn't make sense unless it was at least like 7 years after the school started to be the right age since they start as children.
In the EU, most of the original classes of new Jedi were adults when they began their training. It wasn't until about the time the Solo kids started going to the Academy that it was younger kids, and even then the Solo twins were like 12 or 13 when they started (its been a long time since I read the Young Jedi Knights books...)

Everyone's been saying it...and I know what you mean by EU as in it is a set of series or whatever...but what does it stand for?

EU is the Expanded Universe

Essentially, everything outside of the movies.

Even with there not being an "age" issue with Jedi Padawans...wieg still pointed out a good point: Luke is just now starting up the school.

Call it lack of creativity of whatever you wish to call it, but what I have planned would require my character to have already been trained but still in the "level" of Jedi Padawn. And I hate the idea that he was trained on another planet by some Jedi who survived the Purge.

And MAINLY the countless novels that have been published. Jedi Search, Young Jedi Knights, New Jedi Order, Courtship of Princess Leia, the Thrawn Trilogy... the list goes on and on...

Not during YJK he wasn't. And I haven't read any of the Legacy of the Force books yet, so I don't know how they've done with that.

The Legacy books are great, I'm about halfway through Fury...fun stuff.

That being said, I'm somewhat new to the EU. I read the Thrawn trilogy way back when, but skipped the rest until Legacy got my attention. Gone through each book thus far, in fact I'm alittle sad that I've only got 2 left after I finish the one I'm reading now.

As it stands I think we're going to have a metric ****ton of Saber swinging characters.

**** why don't we just make this a Jedi Academy RPG simliar to the Westchester RPG (OK so bad example beacuse it outright failed but you get the idea)
My character won't be swinging a saber...yet.

If you like Jacen Solo, who I'm told the Legacy series focuses on... I HIGHLY recommend the Young Jedi Knights (though written for younger readers, they're still good reads by one of the best Star Wars writers) and the New Jedi Order series.

Oh no, we're still at least 200 pages from actually getting started.

:p

Do eet!

I'm on a ten hour shift today. It's sunday, I'm working 10am until 8pm and I expect to have something good to come home to :D

And Malek is screaming in my head for me to write as him...

That's one of my favourite series as well, right after the Thrawn trilogy.

So why do these things take so long to get the go ahead? It's not like you're presenting them with an essay to go through.

Ok, about the New Jedi Order. After reading the concerns and opinions, and thinking it over, I'm going to go with no surviving Jedi from the Purge.
Keep with the legacy of Luke being the last of the Jedi Order and the one to remake it.

Now, whoever ends up playing Luke can make it so that he set the temple up a few years ago and already is teaching his first handful of recruits.
It would cut out a lot of solo arcing and open things up to potential padawans, allowing for some major interaction early on.
In the end, it's the call of whoever is playing Master Skywalker.

No Jedi.... how about teenage/early 20's force sensitives?

Of course there could be a bunch of Force sensitives. Just no Purge-surviving Jedi.

Bad times Sensei :D

A damn shame too, there's some really promising stories involved there. I can't believe that Luke would be the only Jedi in the entire universe :(

No Quinlan Vos...? uh oh... You just signed your 'death by polar bear' warrant.
