Anytime someone uses the "_____ is Gay" comment it just goes to show how big an idiot they are.

I grew up on Trek. The original series then TNG. It's always been my favorite. Wrath of Khan has been one of my all time favorite movies since forever. SW is still great (OT was, PT sucked)...but Star Trek will always be my favorite.

There are more SW fans on this site than ST though...so I'm betting it will fall heavily on the SW side.

Star Trek is science fiction.

Star Wars is fantasy with science fiction visuals.

I'll give Wars the nod, simply because it hasn't been ridiculously over produced. Complain all you like about George Lucas, but he has only released six Star Wars films over thirty years. Not only are there ten Star Trek films, there are five (five!) TV series....absurd. Consider, altogether there are probably only thirteen or fourteen hours of Star Wars. I wouldn't like to even guess at how many hours of Star Trek exist.

Anyway ... Both are great but VERY different.

SW is a classic fantasy/myth tale set in a universe that has space ships and the like .... ST is pure science set in a possible Earth future.

Two wonderful creations that sadly get worse the longer they continue.

Star Wars has a better concrete story sure, but the totality of Star Trek, the never ending search, the exploraition, the diplomacy, new alies new enemies, is part of what does it for me
