Stargate SG-1/Atlantis/Universe - Part 1

I know RDA is out but getting Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Michael Shanks and a few others back for at least cameos or even recurring roles would be nice.

Obviously as she said, new team of younger people but the older cast can be the advisers and mentors of sorts to the new ones at least for a few episodes.

Wait, why is RDA out?

Honestly wouldnt bother me too much, i always found the rest of the characters more interesting.
Would be neat so see them back if they do a new show.

Dont get why nobody picked up Stargate all this time yet, it has a lot of potential for movies and shows in the right hands.

Having Sam Carter there to launch a new series would be ideal, and the odd cameo from other characters into the show wouldn't go amiss, but any new show needs to stand on its own two feet if it wants to last.

I/we surely don't want another ST Picard.

Taking into account all that has happened in SG, I'd think Sam would be the only character left on active duty; Jack would've retired, probably Daniel too if he wasn't excavating somewhere, and Teal'C would be with his people.

I doubt they'd be able to get Ronon back, as Mamoa would be too expensive. There's a chance for McKay, Zelenka and Shepard though.

We'll just have to wait and see what's on the other side of the gate...

RDA is retired and I don't think he is coming back. He has not been in anything since 2013 so it would be at least a decade (and he would be 73) if he were to come back at all.

Do it!!! Have Carter as head of SGC with a new SG-1 with cameos by Daniel, O’Neill, Teal’c and co is a must.

Or hell an idea that just popped in my head, could have a mystery with one of the Old School SG-1 members missing and link into the new adventures of the all new SG-1.

I wouldn't mind some of the Atlantis cast stopping by either. Would be a great connection to the two series. Not sure how they could fit Universe in though seeing as they ended that series on the most ridiculous cliffhanger they could come up with despite knowing they were probably going to be canceled.

Amanda Tapping has clarified that she was talking about a conversation that happened some time ago, and has no knowledge of the current state of the revival.

I figured as much. Talks are always just that until we get something official from an official source. Then it is a waiting game to see if it even makes it past the pilot/test phase and then into a full-fledged series.

Still would love to see some new Star Gate come out though.

Depending when a new show was set, the whole Destiny crew couldn't exited their pods and continued on their mission when this show launches; could get a reference to them, or even a convenient body swap for the purpose of an episode (that way we get to see what's new on Destiny first hand - similar to how we had that SG1 episode in Atlantis).

This doesn't surprise me at all, much to my distress. No doubt someone read something out of context, or didn't check the date, then shared it as recent news, and as usual, the internet went wild.

Suffice to say, I don't think we'll be getting anything from the gate any time soon (which is sad, cause there's a lot of potential there). I don't quite know how well it'll be received either, but there is a new RTS PC game (Stargate Timelines) coming out at some point. I can't remember the producing company behind it, but their existing titles are said to be fairly good - so there's hope.

Now with this news, I have a feeling the talk for a new series of Stargate is definitely going to pick up momentum .

I'd be kind of afraid of a reboot. Mainly in that I expect they'd turn Stargate Command into your standard issue Evil/Incompetent Military Operation, the aversion of such cliche being one of the things that made SG-1 such a breath of fresh air.
Even a continuation of the story runs that risk as you are describing the SGC of Universe.
However I hope to see General Carter come back home to steer that ship back to a true course.
