Stargate SG-1/Atlantis/Universe

Syfy could have warned them and let them film a proper ending instead of waiting until after they filmed a cliffhanger that will not be resolved. So now I've wasted time watching a show that has no resolution thanks for nothing Syfy. I know the show didn't have a big following, but Syfy dumps money into those piece of **** "original" Syfy films they make and can't justify giving SGU one more season to wrap things up. I mean what the hell syfy?!

Sad to see SGU go, but I think most of us knew it would happen w/ the move to Tuesdays.
I'm done with SyFy until the new BSG pilot comes out.

If by some strange chance they cancel the new BSG without warning I will lose it.

Haven is pretty good.

Sucks about SGU. I dug it a lot. Problem might be with the format. If the show was more like SG1 and SGA it probably would have found a larger audience.

Speaking of SGA, are they planning to make movies like they did for SG1?

I think MGM going bankrupt stopped the SGA movie from happening.

I have little faith that we'll see anything from the SG universe anytime soon. MGM has dicked around with the proposed SG1 and Atlantis movies for so long, that I don't think they're going to happen. Maybe freeing up SGU's production costs might help, but I get the feeling it's over unless the SGU dvd sales are fantastic and indicate how successful a dvd movie may be.

Besides, a 13 year run for a franchise is pretty damn good. Star Trek went 18, and it took four series to do that.

Can't say that this cancellation took me by surprise, this show has been struggling from the get go. Hopefully we will get another series in the not to distant future.

I'd rather they did a Farscape miniseries 2-3 times a year and I'd be happy.

I just can't understand why wrestling is on Syfy. I wouldn't have thought the people that watch wrestling weren't also into scifi/fantasy.

So, SGA was Canceled for SGU which was canceled. I liked Atlantis and was disappointed when it got canceled and was a little ticked because I did not think I would like SGU. But.. I did like it, I liked the more real tone to the show, now I find myself disappointed that it is canceled as well.

I do not have many shows left to watch now, most which are coming to an end (Like Supernatural), others like Sanctuary (with its bad effects and not so good writing) I tolerate because there is not much else on as shows such as Dexter/True Blood/Spartacus seem have small seasons. Not much going to be left on TV except for reality TV shows soon..

Perhaps we'll get an SGU movie to close the storyline...like they did with SG-1 and are doing with Atlantis

Nope...MGMs financial issues have shelved the SGA movie, and considering how abysmal SGU was doing, I wouldn't doubt if MGM just forgot about it

i'd be surprised if they did drop Stargate completely as there's only one other franchise in the MGM arsenal that is bigger.... and that's Bond...

i'd give it a few months, but it wouldn't surprise me if they announced something nearer the end of the season..

The only thing that might save the franchise is if freeing up Universe's budget gives them the money to do the SG1 and SGA movies they've been talking about forever.

The fact that they've been talking about them forever, though, without really doing anything, doesn't bode well.

The SGA movie was on track until MGM hit the dirt. I doubt SGU cancellation will free up enough money to justify an SGA movie, but I guess you never know. And yes, I would want an SGA movie before an SGU movie. :cmad:

If the show is Cancelled that means SyFy won't pay for any more production which means no reshoots.

We're just going to have to deal with a cliffhanger and no movie.

Merry Christmas!

:whatever:

I feel bad for Robert Carlye. He apparently moved his family to Vancouver for SG:U

call me cynical, but I would never UP and MOVE for a tv show unless it was at least 2 seasons in

i think he looked at how popular SG-1 and Atlantis were and used that in his decision...

There's no guarantee. What if you moved and you were cancelled after season 3? As soon as you get there you've got to move back or find work where you are.

You're sort of SOL

He'll just find some more work around Vancouver.

There're plenty of productions in Vancouver that would love to have an actor of Carlye's caliber. I wouldn't be surprised if we find him on a new show within the year.

You're right. Vancouver's a hot pot but with

-Smallville ending

-Fringe probably having one more season

-Supernatural ending

There might be smaller Vancouver productions available.

is Supernatural definitely ending then? seen a few comments on that, but nothing confirmed...
