I would much rather not see Jack ascend. Ever. It's just not right for the character as I see him.

lacks conflict, although Rodney vs. Sam is always a pleasure to watch.
Well, the teams don't really have much reason to have conflicts with each other. Conflicts between them would likely have to be plot-driven more than anything else.

I'm really looking forward to the new seasons. Mitchell, Ronon, and Vala will have had a full year to settle in now, so hopefully both the actors and the characters will be more comfortable. I'm really hoping the creators lose their Jack-induced phobia and actually explore Mitchell this season, instead of shuffling him off to the background when the other SG-1 members are present.

YES, dogfight, pilot, ori, kill. They need a good 302 battle to get mitchell all decked out. Really, what we need for mitchell is an episode were he whoops some ass. Once he's badass, flushing him out gets easy.

Man I love Vala...looking forward to the shows tonight.

I can not wait for SG1 Season 3 Episode 3. That will with no doubt be one of SG1s Best Episodes. Come on 3 weeks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stargate Returns

W00t w00t!

Now the stateside tv watchers get the thread! :)

I am loving the interactions between Daniel & Vala & Ronan & McKay this Season. I hope we see more of Ronan & McKay together

Sheppard - I got you right where I want you

lol

SG-1 was good. Very tense and interesting straight through. I would've preferred to see the Ori soldiers with weapons that aren't exact ****ing duplicates of the Jaffa weapons (staff that kills, smaller weapon that stuns), but overall it was a great reintroduction to the team and continuation of the previous season finale. Losing the Koralev sucked. I hope General Chekov was one of the six survivors. I liked how Mitchell stepped in as the voice of reason to counter Bra'tac's kamikaze impulse, just like Jack did lo those many years ago--kind of symbolizes how the show has come full circle now. Plus, he got to show off a little of his piloting skills with his lucky save of Sam. Oh yeah, and Teal'c's hair looks weirder this season somehow.

As good as SG-1 was, however, Atlantis was much better. Fast-paced, engaging, lots of fun. McKay and Ronon were great together, and Sheppard was hilarious as usual. The dogfighting Sheppard engaged in is exactly the kind of thing I'd like to see from Mitchell on SG-1 sometime. Sad to see the Orion wasted so soon, but I guess it would've given the Atlantis crew too much of a tactical advantage to keep it around and let them get it fully operational.

Good starts to both series. I really, really can't wait for two weeks to pass now. The SG-1/Atlantis crossover has me very excited.

Indeed lots of good stuff to look forward to especially with Jack visiting Atlantis himself & am I the only one that hates how when Weird or anyone else from Atlantis visits SGC there is like no mention of SG1 typical :o

There was a mention in tonight's episode about the SGC committing all its resources to battling the Ori threat. I just assumed that the episode took place at the same time as the SG-1 premiere tonight, which would mean that the "resources" being committed to fighting the Ori are the Odyssey, SG-1, et al. at the supergate.

Hven't watched my taped Atlantis yet.

But SG-1-

Is this rapid child aging thing the new trend? First in The 4400 and now in SG-1?
And was I the only one who thought it odd that Daniel saved himself instead of sending in the bomb like they originally planned?

I don't think there was time for Daniel to send the bomb. It had been knocked off the platform, and there was no way for him to know how much time he had left, or how long it would have taken him to reposition a heavy bomb. Well, I assume it was heavy.

both premiers were good. SGA gets all the budget, SG-1 gets all the good writing.

I gotta rewatchem, I'll analyze later, but they were both good. And can I say the battle in SGA was very cool, both of them.

SG1 better put a big smack down on the lucian ***** alliance.

And SGA now has an entire hive worth of humanized drones they are responsible for. (Maybe they'll keep them as food to feed micheal)

I was more surprised that Daniel didn't try to drag any of the other people in the ring room over to the rings, myself. I guess he just assumed they were all dead or something.

There really wasn't no time to look

Yeah, that's why I didn't really think it was noteworthy. His survival instinct just kicked in, it seemed.

I used to love Stargate SG1. It got a little lame in the 8th season and then they turned it into Starscape which I haven't been a big fan of. I'm looking forward to O'neils return though.

Atlantis has been pretty good so far. I'm looking forward to seeing where they take it this season.

I still don't see how two actors from Farscape, playing totally different characters from the ones they played on Farscape, somehow mutated SG-1 into an SG-1/Farscape hybrid and ruined the show. I think that idea mostly just stems from resentment over Jack's departure.

I didn't say that they ruined the show. I just thought last season sucked. Personally I don't care for the actress that plays Vala, I hate the Ori, and I thought the wrighting got a lot cornier.

I wasn't talking about you specifically, that "Starscape" thing just got me thinking about a lot of other people I've seen pointing out the Farscape actors as the reason for SG-1's downfall. I don't think it's been that bad. Last season wasn't as good as previous seasons, but then, season 8 had lots of Jack and no Farscape actors and it still sucked.

I dont think theyve ruined Stargate, infact I really like Claudia Black on the show. Its Browder that I dont like.

Her character as a whole Im not a fan of. But I do enjoy when her & Daniel are with each other especially with how they chatted it out in the premiere. Cant wait to see how the Atlantis team handles her.

Flesh and Blood
Well it's nice to see things weren't as bad as the season 9 premiere showed us. Really liked Vala and her daughter the few times they went at it. I was afraid Vala would go soft after giving birth but she's still her snarky self.
Wow. I actually liked Mitchell! He was the glue that pulled back the team, yet again. Hopefully we'll see more of him acting like a leader in this season. Best line of the episode, about Daniel naturally:
Carter - You don't know him like we do.
AWWWW!

Atlantis
The stars of the episode were Dr. Weir and Michael. Weir because she was just badass. Standing up to The Doctor and his crew. You go girl. Michael because, well... I always liked his character. I like the actor that plays him too. Last season ended pretty gruesome, but the season opener was refreshingly fun and light. Sheppard's flashback was hilarious, and even in character. Mckay was in his C3Po mode as usual ("WE'RE DOOMED!!!"), but lots of fun. Well, I don't wanna go down the whole list of characters, but I think all the actors did a great job. Except maybe for Litrell, but Teyla didn't have much to do in this episode.
Oh, and about the females being immune. This is so brilliant. We're gonna have female baddies, kicking ass all over the galaxy! Woo - hoo. :)

I don't like either of the characters, myself. I can't stand Vala, but I think Black is a great actress. I'm disappointed in how stiff and boring Mitchell is, too, because I know Browder can do a lot better if he's given something more than "SG-1 newbie who stands around and makes a random comment twice per episode" to work with.
