I grew up with Phantom. Part of me will always love him. I really don't know if I can be objective about the character. I think it's fair to say he has an interesting (if vaguely racist) mythology and a decent supporting cast even if the hero himself is rather generic personality-wise.

The Phantom is cool. I have a serious soft spot for domino masks, dual wielding pistols and pulp fiction so...
Even that ****ing weird animated series from the 90's was oddly compelling to me.

Sadly, I haven't read much with him in it.....best thing I ever read was a homage to him, Doc Brass, in Planetary, and that dude was awesome. I can only imagine that the original is twice as awesome.

Asterix was never my cup of tea.

When I was a little kid, I'd read Dennis The Menace in The Beano and quite enjoyed the stories. That sort of thing has a limited shelf-life, though. Not a lot of grownups read The Beano, y'know?

Asterix is awesome, the live action versions not so much... but the comics were good.

Dennis and gnasher gargle balls though, I heard Dennis smears his nads with peanut butter and... [censored].

Phantom's awesome as well... It's probably the unofficial comic of choice in Australia as well. About the only comic you can buy in most newsagents.

I only know the character from the movies and the animated series.

I adored the Carrey movie a the time and I'll still watch it if it's on tv.
The Kennedy movie is literally one of the worst excuses for a film I've ever seen.
The series was a fun cash-in.

I've been meaning to read the comics for a long time.

I loved the movie as a kid. I haven't read the comics though. I've heard that it's better because it's dark humor.

i dig the mask! the movie was ok for me but the freaking comic book use to be kick ass!! how come they can't get it right in the movies? The mask is awesome!

Yup.

This is the one most American's think of when you say Dennis the menace.

Also, the mask is pretty cool. As usual, the comics trump the movies.
