State Your Opinion on a Character

I've never read any Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger comics, but those dudes along with Jason Voorhees were a huge part of my childhood. Hell I still love them. I was just randomly quoting Freddy yesterday.

Yeah, they're pretty iconic. I'm gonna try and run a little "Horror" theme here for a few days. We'll see how it goes...

Yeah...

Um. So... Next up!

Jason Vorhees

in movies he is my favorite slasher, in comics eh, that wildstorm comic was dumb.

Holy cow...the characters are rollin' through on the assembly line!!!

Lets see here:

The Doctor...fantastic character although I haven't read a damn thing of any of his comic adventures. Him vs Doom though? I'd pick that one up!!

Michael Myers..like very much, thank you. Kind of the standard that a lot of slasher/serial killers are based upon since his arrival to the scene.

Freddy - I like although he can get a little annoying sometimes with his wisecracks and general bulls***. I think he'd be scarier if he **** a bit more..

Jason - my favorite of the slashers! He's got the little bit of tragic back-history to 'em,so I tend to actually root for him as opposed to just sitting back and watching him f*** s*** up. Once again, I haven't read anything of his comic-wise, but since he's a bit more supernatural-ly then your run-of-the-mill slasher, he has more story potential then you'd think.

I think Dr. Doom is a lot more interesting than the fantastic four.
Reed Richards reminds me of the batcave from the Adam West series.
He has a damn machine for everything.

You don't "eh" Jason. If you can't appreciate a zombie with access to Acme's bladed weapons division you may not have a soul.

I just don't like horror villains/monsters that are just silent tanks. Maybe it's just me, but I find killers in horror films with well developed, realistic personalities to be much scarier than silent hulking monsters with no logic to their actions. It makes it seem much more real, makes it seem much more plausible and much easier for a person like this to exist. And that freaks me out a lot more.

I think in a lot of cases DC's animated JLU universe was more enjoyable than a lot of its comic sources.

Flame shields up!

Jason's logic is pretty much murdering people in the most hilarious ways possible. I can dig it. Nostalgia plays a role in that though. No matter how old I am that sleeping bag kill never gets old.

Jason never got a sleeping bag as a kid, now he's taking out his frustration on campers. Plus the first girl was ******ed. See a big guy in a hockey mask with a machete. What do you do? "Well the Ninja Turtles would go into their shell, but I've got a sleeping bag so I gotta make it count!" Jason was like, "***** please."

'Kay! now for the last in the Horror Series, someone a touch more heroic!

Ash

Good, bad, he's the guy with the gun.

Shop Smart. Shop S-mart!!!

Ash = very cool indeed...

I love how Ash is able to be so freakishly awesome whilst also managing to be basically the biggest screw-up in Horror...

He can be fun, yeah. I guess I point is I don't find him either scary or interesting, so for me he fails as a horror villain. I do get why people love the 80s slashers, because they're silly and fun, and I do enjoy watching them in the right mood and situation, but overall they're not my thing. When I think horror, I think a genuine attempt to make the audience come to face with the worst aspects of life in a very genuine and honest way. My favorite horror film is Silence of the Lambs, so that's the direction I prefer my horror to go in. I'm kind of pretentious like that.

Oh, and Ash is the ****ing man. I used to play in an RPG based on random comic book characters, and the absolute highlight was playing as Hellboy and recruiting Ash into the BPRD. It was a constant back and forth of glorious snark.

Jason does not fail. He would beat up Hannibal Lecter without even using his machete! Also, my dad probably couldn't beat up your father because mine is a fat and lazy slob, but my adopted father, Black Dynamite, probably could beat you up for disagreeing with me! :cmad:

My adopted father, Joe Pesci, would pimpslap your adopted father through a china hutch...

Now this is more like it. Ash is awesomeness personified.

Okay, that's all for Ash. On today's menu we have:
