E.T. for the Atari 2600 is hardly the worst game ever. I liked it as a kid. I found workarounds regarding the bad game mechanics and am surprised that other reviewers haven't.

It is a ***** to try to play without knowing the instructions though.

I never got into Contra games, the die after one shot and lose all power ups, limited lives, never made me a fan of the franchise.

I cannot stand isometric games and find annoying so many RPGs use that viewpoint. The again , I don't care for party based games or MMOs either so probably there's really not many "RPGs" out there with that perspective I would like.

I also kind of barely tolerate 1st person and it has to be a really good game for me to consider it.

Third person is pretty much my comfort zone. Thank you Bethesda for always giving me the choice.

The Last of Us has a great prologue. Then it becomes Zomvie apocalypse 101, with a boring story, cliche characters, and nothing really that great. Visuals are amazing though.

I don't play Star Wars.
I did say a few times in the past I don't care for first person.

I'm a huge Metal Gear Fan. Played all the games, have multiple copies on different platforms. Have the McFarlane Action figures from MGS on display in my hobby room. etc.

To my own personal shock, I'm not really all that excited about MGS5..... I didn't reserve it, I'm sure I'll eventually play it, but I'm not running out to grab it like I have done with all the others. Idk if I'm just tired of the franchise or if I'm just tired of Big Boss or if I just feel this is going to be more of the same all over again.

However, I have reserved my copy of Mad Max and picking it up on Sept 1st on release day.

I'm not a big fan of Halo, I played the first game through and after hearing how badass it was, I felt the enemies were very cartoonish and the controls to be ok at best, far from the best shooter on the market.

I don't like 1st person games and haven't bought any new video games because of it. Everything is FPS and online.


And I'm glad that FPS Avengers game never got released. FPS with the Hulk? Come-on!

Another reason I prefer 3rd person is that I want to see the character I'm controlling (especially if I've spent time customising it, or it's a strong protagonist). I don't like isometric views except for RTS games.

That's a big deal for me too. Also not having any semblance of peripheral vision. Like, I get that it's the same camera either way, but First Person just feels like I'm wearing horse-blinders.

MLG ruined a lot of what I originally enjoyed about online MP gaming. What used to be fun is now super serious and GTFO if you're not super l33t skilled.

FFX was great and I've just found the other FFs to be meh at best. Of course the only FFs I liked was 7 and 10.
