The Dark Knight Step Right Up / End of Jokers Interview

havent been on all day, but is this right....pretty much new viral sites led to a teaser pic and also a list of the cities playing the imax prologue? what all this talk about certain ppl getting a prize?

People still dont seem to get that they didnt have to give us anything. We could have had no pictures, no sound bites, no websites, etc. They could have done like every other movie, and just released the poster, and been like "f**k you, if you want to see the IMAX buy a I Am Legend ticket." But they didnt do that. They gave us awesome games, pictures, sound clips, a huge array of sites, and free tickets to people who live in major cities to see the first 6 minutes of the movie at private screenings. And people are still ungratefull idiots.

That's human nature for ya. Give them an inch, and they'll want a mile. The "more" factor.

3. For those complaining about the IMAX showing in certain cities, to quote Harvey Keitel in Pulp Fiction "Move out of the sticks fellas!" They put it out there for major cities, if this makes you feel like your city is less important because its smaller then good....it is.
Cold-blooded.

Thank god I go to school in NYC. :hyper:

So to be clear; the IMAX screenings will show the prologue. will anything else be offered?
IDK, was it ever confirmed it would be the prologue? I know it's obvious, but still...

Amen. I was at work waiting for everything to transpire. I work in Greensboro, NC and halfway thought that there was a possibility of a cake at the bakery within a 5 minute drive from where I work (as I'm sure a lot of people thought). I was a little irritated that everything was happening in the north and on the west coast, but it makes sense. I know a lot of people were pretty aggrivated with the guy in MN that had the last cake and couldn't redeem it quick enough because of the snow conditions.

Guys, it happens. If there is anything promotional to do with this movie, we will all reap the rewards eventually. So what if we just got a poster? It is an amazing looking poster (and very fitting). This is a promotional campaign. If there is something worth promoting and spreading word about the movie, we will know about it. That's what this is supposed to do (and I'm sure a lot of you guys have talked to someone about how cool this marketing was to somebody that doesn't even give a crap about Batman).

Just sit tight. There is no way things would have ended for this game this soon. There is a lot more that is bound to happen between now and the premiere on July 18th (which is a great gift for my 26th birthday!):woot:

Hey, I'm in NC also. Wilmington here. Welcome to the boards. Yeah, no bakerys or IMAX advance in NC, but I totally agree. Tell you the truth I think it's cool they are giving free advanced screenings at all. I mean some of us actually get to see this footage a week early. I've been on this board the past two months and we've worked hard. Some of us get to go, some of us don't, but stuff is happening. I wish I was a lucky one, but I'm not, so I wish the die-hard-bat-fans all the best. Have fun and tell us all about it when it's over.

Same thing happened to the Vegas one. I called right after the stuffed animal was taken down on the site. The guy tells me that it was taken early in the morning, I asked what time exactly...around 11:30 ish as he put it. About 2 hours before the clue went up on the viral/site. The animal was only up for like 4 minutes too.

Thats not true actually. I'm the guy who got the Vegas cake. The bear posted at 1:00 pacific time. We hoped in the car and flew down to the place and made it there at 1:15 and it was still there. While we were waiting for the guy to go in the back and get the cake, another guy came in and asked us if we had gotten the cake. We barely beat him. Whoever told you that was a fibber!

All the viral marketing has managed, at least, to makes us all feel very much part of a fictional world.

Hey everyone out there. I'm one of the people who was there when we got the two NYC cakes. Just posting to see if I can find any of the people I met there.
Also, that phone call was the single creepiest thing I've ever experienced and it was one hell of a fun game.

Phone call?

Hey everyone-

I posted this elsewhere, but the tickets are now reading this: This screening will be monitored by security. No camcorders, camera phones or other recording devices are allowed. Please do NOT bring items such as these to the theatre as there is NO place to check them. Please allow extra time for security screening at the theatre.

So, be careful- pretty much all phones have them these days and it would suck not to be able to go in if you brought it with you or to have it confiscated...

When we got the cake there was another number we had to call on a note inside the evidence packet with the cell phone. Called it, it was basically "Thank you for calling Rent-A-Clown. We now know who you are. Goodbye"

I am guessing that is how they linked it to the website...

Hey, did anyone have any contacts in their phone? We had three but they didn't make sense.

What the hell? Now how am I going to get a group picture with all the Hypers?? :(

Someone emailed me a link to this and I thought I would register and clear things up. I am the one who got the DC cake. I just happen to live a few blocks from the bakery (Firehook Bakery on Farragut Square) so I was able to get there within a few minutes of the address being posted (I got there around 2:05 or so).

I've been reading through this thread, and just wanted everyone to know that the reason it took me so long to call the # is that I was waiting for my roommate to get back from class (I told him I wouldn't cut open the cake without him). My apologies if anyone made the trip thinking that the cake was still there.

I did not mention anyone else coming for the cake, I just acted like a regular customer. So if they were told to put up a sign, it wasn't by me.

Well. So, you know that was the still pretty bull****ty thing ever to do...

I spent 8 dollars for metro, walked 1.5 miles in the cold, and wasted 3 hours of my life.
I had a program due at 6 tonight, my assumption was I would finish it with some cake...had I known someone had picked it up, I wouldn't have wasted my time.

I'm glad you were close to the bakery and got the cake, but you should have done something. How do you even know about this viral if you aren't on these forums!!

I don't fully think you are telling the truth, but whatever.

2 questions for some of you guys:

1--What happened to the shoot-out and Barhyte? I figured this final task would tie it ALL together??!

2--The theaters listed on WSS ARE NOT the only ones showing the TDK footage? Right?

Thanks

Contacts? We looked through the phone but didn't notice any....

still tape it lol.and wb ninjas it will be on youtube ahahhaahahah

yeah, our phone had three contacts in it but they weren't full numbers. They were three number combinations each.

They're in business to make money, not lose it. With a heavyweight battle of Batman vs Joker as the main event, they HAVE to promote it and heavily. They ain't doing us any favors, they want to make money and much more money than they did on Begins.

I've enjoyed the marketing thus far but I guess I'm waiting for it all to tie in (so many websites with characters not even in the movie) or lead to something bigger than a mediocre teaser poster. Why go through all this trouble only to give a little payoff? The interest has been there from the hardcore fans. Most of the real goodies have come from "outside" of the WB & 99% of us on this board are gonna be in line at 11:00PM July 17th anyway so I dunno.

Unless it's all a joke...

1-- i dunno

2-- only showing the footage those days. You can see the trailer before I Am Legend, but you can watch both the trailer AND a 7 minute prologue if you see it in IMAX. And thats everywhere
