Stephen King's 'Carrie' remake

So I found out the IMDB that this is the only horror movie in October since PA5 is pushed back.
Whaaaa.....? Damn Studios, what happened? I don't even like horror movies all that much and pretty much skip them all in October, but even I feel like a bunch of people dropped the ball on this, lol.

Everyone other than Sony/Screen Gems, I guess. Smart move indeed.

Horror films have done really well being release throughout the year this year. There's been no reason to concentrate them and have to compete.

Still you'd think they'd at least move Insidious to October.

Apparently, All The Boys Love Mandy Lane is (FINALLY...SEVEN YEARS LATER!!!!) getting some special screenings in theaters in October. Not that it'll really compete against a wide release.

Finally. Soooo long I've been waiting to see that stupid thing.

Also, Video on Demand if there aren't any theaters near you showing it.

I've been waiting for this as well...I have a fear that the love for it was more of a novelty thing and that it isn't this masterpiece it's been built up as by many.

Don't care, it has Chloe and Julianne Moore in it, that alone makes it a must see.

The audience is for teenage girls (which they most likely will get in droves). With the amount of bullying going on today, the plot is more relevant than ever. I actually think they're smart not to deny the audience most likely affected the most by this story; teenagers.

Whatever they put the trailers, its still an R rated film, meaning a lot of the teen crowd will be shut out.

It is 100% of the reason why so many movies are cut down from R to pg13, why a lot of money gets thrown around to lower the rating and why Pg13 movies do in fact gross more.

I just read this:

Reality will always be more tragic than fiction. And it just shows that it can happen to anyone (for those who thinks Chloe looks too good in Carrie)

Carrie Gets an R Rating, More Promos Debut
Screen Gems and MGM's Carrie redo has received an R rating for bloody violence, disturbing images, language and some sexual content. That confirmation comes via a new TV spot that has hit the web. This is quite the surprise considering the nature of the material and the belief that the studio would be aiming for a PG-13 to garner the widest possible audience.

Below, check out the TV spot and a Japanese trailer. Look for the film on October 18th.

Directed by Kimberly Peirce, Carrie stars Chloe Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Gabriella Wilde and Ansel Elgort.

Of course its rated R, its just the trailer that's PG-13, which is no surprise.

Yay R rating just rewatched the original today to get prepared.

Some sexual content....ticket bought. :o

What the hell happened to all the Stephen King movies? The last ones were in 2007 (The Mist and 1408). 6 freakin' years. :cmad:
