I think its neat that these movies are acting as a sequel and I think it fits with what Ive read about the ending of Dark Tower. But Akiva Goldsman being a producer and writer on this thing makes me unconfident that this will be anything but a mess.

According to a document sent out to movie theatres Sony didn't direct theaters to attach the The Dark Tower trailer to anything specific movie so keep your eyes open when you go to the movies this weekend.

No thanks I will take another Craig one before that & that would just split the fan base up & hes already getting heat for being in this movie & I don't think he would take a (major compared to this movie) black wash role so soon. Plus look at Ghost In The Shell this year probably best for him to stay away especially after this tanks

What does GitS have to do with Elba playing Bond? A lot of people would want to see it happen

The race change thing would be what they have in common & Im tired of it & I certainly would not support it & lets be honest if Craig does another one Elba will likely be to old to play Bond anyway (long term) when things are said & done. Elba can come up with his own spy character if he wants to be a spy character. I am not supporting the race change here being a fan of the books & will be happy to see this movie fall flat on Tom Rothmans face & I wont support a Bond change

Well as a woman I'd sooner believe Elba is a sexy ladies man agent than Craig but clearly I know nothing

Unlike Roland, where being white is fairly integral to character, there's nothing that suggests that James Bond can't be black.

Plenty says that Bond was created white

You completely misunderstood what I was saying. Describing him as white in the books is irrelevant because its not integral to the plot. Roland being white is actually relevant to parts of the story.

But that is how he was envisioned by the creator & Stan Lee said it best if the character was made white, straight etc nothing should be changed (when talking about Peter Parker)

If its not relevant to the actual narrative, its open season as far as I'm concerned. Cast whoever the hell can get the job done. Despite the film being piss poor, I thought the casting the casting Michael Clark Duncan as Kingpin was one of the better casting choices of the early comic book movie boom.

We're really on Roland's race again? It's literally the least concerning thing about this movie. You could transport Clint Eastwood from the past, place him in this movie and it still looks like a disaster.

Good for you this is where our opinions are different

& yeah at the time MCD was good I will agree with that but as MARVEL has shown they could have likely found a relatively unknown guy with the required build & do just as good. Id imagine at the time MCD was one of the few known guys with the type of body build for Kingpin & FOX likely went with the known actor instead of taking a chance so with that reasoning I was cool with it

Marvels own live action portrayal of Kingpin is just as different from the source material. Hugh Jackman is substantially taller than wolverine in the comics, but had they cast a shorter black actor in the role, everyone would have lost their ****. Why is his skin tone more important than his height?
