Oh man... I'm so ready to see this! That was a great teaser trailer! The only thing that bugs me a bit is that it seems that they removed Bill's stutter. I really hope the stutter is in the final film...

But everyone who still doesn't like the Pennywise design, this design is actually much closer to the look the character had in the novel. Plus, Pennywise doesn't always go after kids as a clown; a lot of the time he takes the form of kids different fears, such as the leper.

Overall, this film looks promising!

I think that last shot of Pennywise coming out of the water was.........disturbing.

I'm less concerned with how Pennywise looks, than I am with how they realise IT's [BLACKOUT]true[/BLACKOUT] nature in the sewers under Derry, and indeed the way they depict IT in the [BLACKOUT]macroverse[/BLACKOUT].

If you have a fear of clowns in general, sure. But in that case you are screwed no matter what.

I don't find anything particularly scary about Ronald McDonald, for instance. But you better believe I'd be ****ting myself if I found him in a dark basement where he didn't belong.

Old Ronald should've been a template to go off of when designing the new Pennywise. Give me horror through context, not this tired "Look at how scary he is!" angle.

Aye, they terrify the bejesus out of me, taking your Ronald McDonald example, I went loco in McDonalds as child as Ronald made a 'special' visit to the one I just happened to visit with my mum one time.

Was highly looking forward to this trailer and it didn't disappoint. My quick thoughts are that I held my breath in fear of them showing TOO much of Georgie's sewer kill scene so I was relieved by what they were willing to show. Also very glad they didn't reveal Pennywise's voice and he looks downright terrifying. The x-factor for me was how these kids seem like LEGIT actors. That's always make or break so all around, FANTAST-IT trailer. 8/10.

I noticed that too. That's the only thing that's bothering me, did they just hide it in the trailer?

I think I've grown out of horror films because the trailer did nothing for me.

I've outgrown them too but strangely this trailer did get my blood pumping maybe cause I loved the mini series the clown looks great IMO

Seeing that Bill's stutter was not in Cary Fukunaga's script, it's every possible that the stutter was not put back in Andy Mushietti's final film version.

I hope it's in the final film, though.

I love the trailer. The cast of kids seem great, and the few glimpses we got of Pennywise was terrifying. Especially the last one.

Agreed. Probably one of the FIRST time in this new generation of horror that gave instant chills where I backed the f$^ck up for a second. I was always a fan of horror, but the past decade of crap really had me leave the genre for a good period of time. I believe Pennywise is ripe for actually doing a remake RIGHT and one that gives me hope that they can actually pull this off. Haven't been this excited for a legendary horror remake in forever.

Maybe that was influencing things too, more than once I had flashbacks to the TV series watching this trailer.

Am I the only one that didn't notice a stutter though? Is that just me?

He has a slight stutter when he says "I saw something", it's just subtle. Keep in mind, he wasn't a constant blubbermouth in the book, either.

IMO this looks great, and I can't wait for September!

Fairly effective trailer. They're selling it like more a typical horror movie. I doubt it is.

Glad they showed some restraint, with Pennywise and the story in general.

I kind of don't care that he looks scary as a clown. At no point in the book is this thing's emergence into a situation portrayed as "normal". It's always weird, eerie, etc. And there are different levels to Its appearance, even as a clown.

Beyond that, It's primary goal is to terrorize children. It feeds on them when they're terrified, and that enhances It's experience and power.

"You all taste so much better when you're afraid."

I found the trailer to be really weak. From the usual and cliche "jumpscare" shots to the way they tried to hide Pennywise thru all the trailer, everything was so predicable and boring. I'm not talking about the story in itself, but the way the trailer was edited, it felt uninspired and flat. I don't know...

I'm not saying that the movie will be bad, but this trailer wasn't effective at all for me.

It looks like its set to give a new generation of kids nightmares...which means, it looks like they're on the right track. Good trailer.

I loved the original miniseries back in the day, and this looks very much in the spirit of that. I love the eighties setting.

I did want to hear how Pennywise sounded , but i'm ultimately glad they didn't show too much of him in the trailer.

Yeah. People are talking about Pennywise a lot, which is understandable, but IT has so many faces. I'm excited to see how they portray them, especially in the film's latter stages.

By the way guys... if you've only seen the 90s mini-series, and not read the book, you're missing an awful lot of what IT actually is. There is stuff going on at the book's climax that never made it to the screen back then. If they do it properly this time around, it'll be an ending that'll freak a lot of people out with how much it diverts from typical horror movie endings.

IT is actually a fantasy movie... not really a horror, if it's done right.

aye, read the book people  (if you haven't)

I had IT in my hands the other night. I think it's time to make the purchase of the oversized edition.

Do it, if you've never read it. Simply the greatest fantasy horror novel ever written. King sticks the landing better than he has with any other book.
