HBO, HBO, HBO!

HBO, HBO, HBO!!

HBO, HBO, HBO!!!

HBO, HBO, HBO!!!!

I hope they go the mini-series route rather than the film, but on a network that can allow it to be what it needs to be.

I say Boooooooo to making it an HBO miniseries. I say get James Wan to do it.

Saw
Dead Silence

Death Sentence
Insidious
Insidious: Chapter 2
The Conjuring

Fast & Furious 7

This guy is pretty much the only big name Horror director in Hollywood right now. Write him a check ASAP, give him a copy of the novel, and tell him "Have at it." Let him do his thing, allow it to be a 3-hour movie with Wan having final cut, and a hard R rating.

I DO NOT WANT A MICHAEL BAY-PRODUCED, PG-13 TEEN MOVIE WITH ALL THE HOTTEST YOUNG STARS FROM GOSSIP GIRL. PLEASE GOD.

You know what's an easy way to avoid that happening? Give it an HBO miniseries. :o

Or....

Those same credits intact, but in miniseries form. On HBO.

:ninja:

And...

Pennywise obviously needs to be played by Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, and Chris Pine all taking turns from scene to scene.

:hubba

forget James Wan and those boring movies he churns out. please James, use more loud music to cover up your movie's lack of actual scaryness. maybe throw in an overly polished "creepy" doll while you're at it. he's like the M Night Shamaylan of horror.

Cumberbatch is actually creepy enough looking to make an interesting Pennywise. but he's not really on my list of potentials. i'd prefer Tim Curry.

Is Fukunaga still attached to direct this? Because if the last six minutes of True Detective was any indication, this movie is in good hands.

Cary is still attached to write and direct, and After watching True detective, how can anyone not see how perfect he is for this.

Thank god!!! That dudes movies are the worst and I can't stand the little kids with the ammish farm house painted faces.

Darabont needs to do everything.

Pennywise might be the role that helps brings back Robert Englund.

I like a lot of Wan's work but his style of horror is beyond stale. Even he knows it, which is why he's seeking work elsewhere with Fast 7. Bringing in talent from outside of the genre is the best way to keep it fresh even when adapting previously adapted works. Its not like Kubrick was known for ghost movies before making The Shining.

The Conjuring was a genuinely good film in my view.

Anyway... Nic Cage for Pennywise. You all know it makes sense. It'd be terrifying.

I love the 2 movie idea. HBO is fine but I'd really prefer to see what cinema has to offer. If they pull it off, it'll be one of the most epic horror movies of all time. The visuals/budget might be the biggest for any Stephen King adaptation.

And trimming the fat for a feature film might make for a better experience than when they string out scenes for television to pad time for television.

Anyone wanting another director obviously hasn't been watching True Detective. This film already has the perfect director attached to it.

Watching all of True Detective has proved two things to me:

1. They have the perfect director attached to this.
2. It'd be idiotic to go the film route rather than making an HBO miniseries.
