Stephen King's "IT" remake has found a writer

Wow, this is weird casting. But if Fukunaga thinks the guy from We're the Millers killed it in the audition, then I have faith he did. Sometimes great casting comes out of the unlikeliest of places so this might actually be quite a find that one doesn't find often in these type of roles.

It sounds as if he was against a younger actor until he auditioned. Plus him being in The Revenant helps.

But Christ, he's a year younger than me. He's 6 '2' which helps.

I've only seen Poulter in the third Narnia and The Maze Runner, so I have no idea what to expect from him as Pennywise.

The dude has a weird face in fact he kind of looks like like a blonde version of Tim Curry so I see what they're going for again.

I've only seen him in "We're the Millers" where I saw his penis.

I'm just amazed we're finally getting some casting. I figured this would still be stalling for years to come.

Might they play up the idea of Pennywise as an ageless clown?

With the makeup it doesn't matter that much anyways. He must have really delivered something nuts in that audition. Previously everyone they were said to be looking at were much older. This casting represents a course change.

How is this supposed to shoot this summer when they've only cast one person?

Whatever specific scenes happened in the original film I really don't care about, because its not as relevant as to why they cast this actor for this film.

This comment makes me think you've never read the book. Would that be correct?

I'm sure there is talks with a lot of people. I mean, they have to cast seven young actors, and their adult counterparts. I've always found just fan casting this to be tough.

Im not into Horror but this one really interested me.

Sucks that he left.

Maybe it's for the best. New Line calling for budget cuts, apprehensive about the movie. We don't want another half-assed Poltergeist here.

I heard FUKUNAGA wanted something classy and artful, like THE SHINING, and New Line wanted a more commercial IT movie. Yes... singular.
Ugh.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Sad.

That sucks. it sounds like what Fukunaga was going for would have been very very interesting, and I liked the two movie idea with the kids in part 1 and the adults in part 2. Very unfortunate turn of events.

If that's indeed the case, it's best the project dies and preferably stays that way for the forseeable future.

God ****ing Dammit. Fukunaga was such a perfect person to have on this. Ugh. UGH!

Probably for the best. It all seemed screwy from the beginning. Directors are rarely granted their full artistic visions. Unless you're Kubrick, Nolan, Fincher, Spielberg, Aronofsky, or Cameron, you probably haven't earned the right for final vision / final cut, and even that's not guaranteed. Even Scorsese had problems with The Wolf of Wall Street. Even Ridley Scott had problems with Kingdom of Heaven. Not trying to sound snotty, but Fukunaga is a nobody.

Ugh, Rocketman. :o

You let the writer/director of True Detective walk? A show that rivaled some of the best work put out in theaters nowadays?

Fools. Enjoy the cookie-cutter, run-of-the-mill horror flick you shovel out in his stead.
