Stephen King's The Stand on CBS All Access

I’ve got a feeling he’ll either be playing Lloyd Henreid or Trash Can Man.

I've never seen the guy really act in anything, but I'm willing to bet he wouldn't be up for a role as meaty as Lloyd. Trashcan Man might work, but I think it's more likely a much smaller role the monster caller that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar played in the old miniseries.

I know I mentioned McConaughey as Stu but goddam would he have made a great Flagg. Technically the Man in Black is Flagg so it could be a do over!

Though personally, I would cast an unknown actor. It would be more terrifying if it was an unrecognizable face.

I’m down for McConaughey getting another shot at Flagg.

He's in the last season of Son's of Anarchy as a recurring character and did a good job with the role. He played a prison shotcaller for the aryan brotherhood.

Trashcan Man would be perfect! He's also doing a cover of "The End" from The Doors. Hell yeah.

I can’t help but feel what a disappointing cast for such a huge epic.

Concessions need to be made based on the venue. CBS All Access doesn't yet have HBO/Netflix clout, so...

None of these actors seem bad to me. At least it's a helluva or better than we'd get on CBS proper. Which would be, like... Eddie Cibrian as Stu and Alyssa Milano as Nadine.

That's kinda crazy. I have no clue as to what that new coda would be beyond the epilogue that's already in the complete and uncut version of the novel.

‘The Stand’: Whoopi Goldberg, Four More Join Stephen King’s CBS All Access Series

Whoopi Goldberg is set to star alongside Jovan Adepo(When They See Us), Owen Teague (Mrs. Fletcher), Brad William Henke (Orange is the New Black)and Daniel Sunjata (Rescue Me) in The Stand, an adaptation of Stephen King’s novel at CBS All Access.

Goldberg’s Mother Abagail is a prophet who receives visions from God and guides survivors of the superflu.

Adepo will play Larry Underwood, a young musician with a taste for fame, as well as illegal substances. When the plague hits, he is forced to confront his demons as he makes his way to the new world.

Teague will portray Harold Lauder. After the superflu ravages his town, Harold goes in search of others with fellow survivor Frannie Goldsmith. While his intentions are good, jealousy and his infatuation with Frannie threaten to lead him down a dark path.

Henke will portray Tom Cullen, Nick Andros’ traveling companion who is developmentally disabled due to a terrible fall as a child. A sweet soul, he will be instrumental in their fight for survival.

Sunjata will play Cobb, a member of the military tasked with supervising Stu Redman as the government searches for a cure during the outbreak of the superflu

Eh... sure. I guess Stellan should play Leland Gaunt in the Needful Things remake or something now.

Kinda funny that his younger brother is playing Pennywise.

Also no one is going to believe me, but i pegged Henke for Tom Cullen when I first read the book.

A decade ago.

That Dark Tower TV series should cast Bald Skarsgard Brother from Westworld as John Farson

Surprised they went so young.

I figured that guy would end up in this. He and Boone are friends.
