I am really really really looking forward to the score for this movie. I was listening to the TF1 score today, and it is beyond epic. In fact at times i feel it's TOO good to go with a film like Bay's version of TFs.

I like what I'm hearing, even though the choral elements of some of the songs could be a lot lower, like Infinite White.

Yeah, I saw the movie again today. Had not seen it over a year and the score in the movie was awsome. Also have the CD and it's amazing. Hope he came up with something good for this sequel as well. Having Zimmer is also a plus, can't wait to get my hands on the album.

Good stuff.

EDIT: I'm about half-way through and wow, this score has a completely different feel than the last one. It's way more eery, forboding, and has a lot of techno elements. I can't wait to see how it's utilized in the film.

I just brush it off and actually enjoy it even if it's not the most original score out there.

You guys have no idea what you're talking about. Just because Jablonsky uses female vocals, doesn't mean he's ripping off Zimmer. Gladiator is probably the only score you know or remember from Zimmer, but he wrote other stuff as well. Even Zimmer doesn't have one single style. Take THe Weather Man, or Frost/Nixon.

And in my opinion Jablonsky did create something original. Ever hear a theme like the one for The Fallen in a blockbuster movie? The sounds he uses for ROTF are quite inspired. Listen to Heed Our Warning for example. The bass with a delay effect and the male choirs. It's perfect. And unusual.

I wasn't. And I'm sorry if it seemed that way.

I can understand why you'd think of the Joker's theme. That's also something that's unusual for a blockbuster. Maybe Zimmer helped Jablonsky with that (The Fallen's theme), but the rest it's pretty original. Remote Control/Media Ventures original, that is, because they all use the 2-3 or 4 ascending or descending notes 'theme'.

He isn't credited in the film, but on the score it says 'Hans Zimmer - additional music'.

I can't stand it when people say things like "Gosh, those two or three notes sound like something I heard in another movie".

There are only so many notes in the world.

Most of this sounds pretty good, especially the "Prime", "Tomb of the Primes" and "Matrix of Leadership" tracks.

I'm sure you're talking about my post, but it's more than relevant seeing as Zimmer had a hand in Batman and Transformers' work.

Yup. Getting pretty tired of people (not saying you specifically are doing this, it's just a trend I see) who can't tell the often not-so-subtle differences between themes going "X sounds just like Y! Ripoff!", when in fact X does NOT sound just like Y.

Such is the nature of music, though. I haven't heard much of anything in the last few years that didn't sound like I'd heard something similar before somewhere. And I'm sure that somewhere, someone wrote something similar to this, and Jablonsky or whoever else, having not heard every piece of music in history or being able to remember it all, didn't realize their music was similar. Such is the nature of composing. Composers talk about "influences" all the time and all that.

I don't particularly care if Zimmer had a hand in Transformers scoring, because I don't mind them having a similar sound. That said, the Transformers scores don't sound all that much like TDK, or even BATMAN BEGINS.

Besides,

Zimmer didn't invent

"Dadadadadadadadada"

And

"Dadadadadadadadada" isn't that clever to begin with. I've seen it used in countless movies, to the point where now I expect to see it in any action/thriller.
