Steven Spielberg Teams with Stephen King for Under the Dome

Yep. Aka Patrick Bateman's clueless girlfriend, aka Mrs. Frank Castle, aka the Princess from the Mario Brothers movie.

So...

the daughter, is she not in the book or there is a girl in the book and she has been completely rewritten for the show?

There was a girl in the book, but she didn't have two moms. If I remember right, her mother was with her, and lived there, under the dome, but she died from different circumstances. I think it was from a huge fireball from the meth lab explosion that sucked most of the oxygen from that area.

And for those curious enough, here's a book spoiler about Junior...

In the book, he was made crazy by an undiagnosed brain tumor. He suffered migraines, then did crazy **** like kill two young women, wrap their bodies in cellophane, and store them in a cool basement and carry on conversations with them from time to time. When he was feeling stressed, he'd go talk to his "girlfriends." And yeah, like the miniseries, he was made a deputy by Big Jim.

It is kind of odd, that the town's police department has less members and guns than... a couple of yokels.

Big Jim should probably have deputized some more people...

I think I can sum up my feelings for the episode in the following ways.

as well as...

I really dug this past episode, especially with the cliffhanger at the end. Even if they went one note over of overselling it, it was a kickass tease.

The main complaint I have with this series is that is feels constrained by being with CBS.

When Ollie gets it, I WANT HIM TO REALLY GET IT!!
You know? It just all seems so clean and sanitized...and safe..because it has to be, on CBS.

I like this show somewhat. Still watching it. The character melodrama takes precedence over the overarching plot, so it comes across as a sloooow burn though.

I still watch this show too, but it's starting to get to me how much potential this show is wasting.
Great premise, Mike Vogel and Dean Norris are good actors... but the storylines are starting to get pretty boring and/or annoying.

Honestly if it wasnt for the fact that this was shown in the summer. I wouldve probably stopped.

Starting to dig this show more and more each episode. I think a lot of us are getting spoiled by things like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones etc. Some shows are starting to just seem like they could be absolutely amazing but don't quite meet up to the potential. Still, this isn't bad, just not as good as it could be which is fine. It's good enough which is all that matters to me here. Not everything can be absolutely breathtaking television

The unholy alliance of Junior and 3 teeth was short lived, Junior put pay to his one man halitosis rampage quick smart, I mean you just know that guy had breath like unwashed ass.

I liked the scene near the end between Barbie and The Jimster, those two are gonna be busting elbow juice in each others squash pipes before you can say "Taters in the caboose!"

I'm guessing that's a Monarch butterfly tattooed on Angie's shoulder.

Best ep so far.

Oh you and your wordplay. :funny:

That's not being spoiled, that's getting good television, and having to settle for mediocrity.

If the best a show can do is "it ain't bad", and "good enough", it needs to work on it.

It's like Revolution all over again.

There's still alot to be worked out going ahead, but I think you guys are being a little extreme.

Exactly. If it's THAT much of a deal to you, then why ****ing watch in the first place? I can understand if it's somebody hating Dexter right now or something but standing behind the whole "that's settling for mediocrity" argument is just silly to me. Do you think that every single tv drama produced should be Emmy material? I mean, we can hope but that's not how things work. Sometimes "good enough" is just that, good enough. Could this be better? Sure. Could it actually be amazing? Sure, it could if they really tried. But hell, every show could be better. Hannibal is an amazing show but I would still say that it's nowhere near where it could be. Does that make it mediocre? No. It just makes it not perfect.

Honestly? Cause there's nothing else on. If that wasn't the case, nobody would be watching a lot of these shows. And actually, because I kind of liked the book.

If something is mediocre, I call it what it is.

Oh I'm not saying it's not mediocre. It totally is. But I do enjoy it, otherwise I wouldn't watch. I literally watched Revolution (somewhat halfheartedly) all the way until the ep before the finale and gave up then. That's never happened to me before but I really started to hate that show and just not care about any of it so I stopped watching.

Pfft. That finale was great. :o

I didn't even watch it. Heard it was good, don't care. I could hardly pay attention to that show any time I had it on.

Who was the girl with the butterfly tattoo at the end of the episode ?

I finally caught up with 4 weeks worth of unwatched episodes. I thought it was going to stall out and meander more but it managed to get it together and become a much better series than I was starting to think it was going to be.

great episode tonight I liked the addition of Natalie Zea I love to see ya who is playing much different character that she has every played before. The whole mini dome reveal I thought was cool can't wait to see what storylines they can spin out of that.

The mini dome is giving me all kinds of Roswell flashbacks. Great episode tonight. Will be surprised if they don't try to get Junior to join in.
