Stop making Final Fantasy games.

We need to examine a game series that simply won't die, that my friends is Final Fantasy. It's been begging to be euthanized for years now, greedy bastards have been making these forever simply because their die hard fan boys will buy anything with the FF title in it. Hell, they even tried to make a shoot um up one called Dirge of Cerberus, needless to say it sucked. The only reason they've allowed this series to live so long is because their greedy. If you continue to buy these games you're part of the problem.

FF is a mixed bag. Some of the games are brilliant, some aren't too good and most of the spin offs are tripe. They just need to be a lot more careful with what they choose to release.

This is pretty much it. Some are masterpiece like Final Fantasy VIII and others are pure crap like Final Fantasy X.

Really? X was the only one I'd ever played, and honestly, I figured the whole brand was surviving on name-recognition and not quality. I'll look into these others.

No FFX was really one of the worst of the series. If you played only that one, you haven't seen the best that Square can put out under the banner of Final Fantasy.

I haven't played XII yet, mostly because I was so put off with X.

IV, VI, VIII, IX were my favorites from the series.

So long as the main series continues to be great, they can carry on to their hearts content.

If they suddenly start becoming 6/10 games, then fair enough, but they aren't. The main series always churns out top tier games.

Only ones I have are X and XII, which are great and amazing. Some of the games are great, but your right about the Vincent game, that game sucked.

I neve boght it, I read the reviews. The graphics were sub-parr and the targeting system was crap.

i say keep making them but get rid of this running around in battle thing and get back to good old turn based fighting like the ffx system or any of them before tht actually cos they were all good fighting systems, and dont get rid of the classic summons liek shiva liek i read they did ¬_¬ its liek taking out cid and the moogles you just dont do it lol

FF has obviously turned your brain to cranberry sauce.

I still enjoy the original Final Fantasy. Even more so thanks to 8-bit Theater. I haven't played much of FF2 (the one that come out in Japan) thanks to a ****ing insane levelling system. I lost my copy of the FF3 rom. FF4, FF5, and FF6 are real gems. I don't get tired of playing them.

The games after FFVI, however are another thing. I stopped paying attention after FF9

You just torpedoed all of your credibility. Reviews can only give you a decent idea of what the game is like, not the overall quality (Note: I'm not defending this particular game itself, I haven't played it).

soon to be FFXII.

None Final Fantasy game really sucked, regardless of what people say. The story might of been bad, or the xp system might of been different, but each game as it's own is nothing less than good. The series continues to be as fresh as can be, and for what it's worth, after 20+ games on the FF series alone, not counting the other dozen or so RPG's made by SquareSoft/Square-Enix that's amazing.

People like you are part of the problem. Have you picked up FFXII? It's nothing short of a godsend for the type of game it is. FFVII: DoC was awesome as well. Could of been better, of course. But that doesn't mean it sucked.

Ive since played through X-2 and currently playing XII. The FF games are quality and some of the best. SE should and will continue to make more

I didn't hate FF till I played that abomination called FF7. Look up crappy game in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of FF7. I refused to play another game in the series after that. Then 8-bit theatre got me to try FF1. Which lacked the worst part of the whole series, the story/characters. SE coldn't design a male character that didn't offend me as a man if they convinced Jet Lee to let them copy him. Then there is the story which is almost the exact same everytime.

Ive played Dirge and IA with the reviews, that it wasnt as good, but anybody can tell you that that game is not representative of the FF series. It was a spinoff, a poor one at that. The main RPG series is among the best and still going strong after all these years. IDA with the statement that FF is still around only bc SE is greedy. If this franchise is still making millions, why wouldbnt they continue it? It makes NO sense why they would end it.

Why? XII turned out to be really good. VII was great, VIII was great, IX was fair. X was good although Tidus was whiney, the battle system was fun and it had some great characters (Auron and Kihmari). And lets not forget, the best game of the series, Tactics. This past decade of Final Fantasys hasn't been too shabby.
