Yeah there was no crater and Doom wasn't scarred like that at that point in the film. The Surfer had already healed him.

Remember that Silver Surfer concept art we got more than a year ago? Well as it turns out it was indeed from FF2 according to the artist Miles Teves.

Here are a few attempts at a slightly more unusual and alien take on the Silver Surfer for 'Fantastic-4-2'. Of course, they opted for the T-1000 in the end
