When you were a kid, did you ever scream out "STRANGER!!!!" when someone you didn't know spoke to you, or was just there?

I was channel surfing the other day, and a scene on Full House had some kid yelling Stranger! in regard to Uncle Jesse who was there.

My parents taught me to be wary of strangers, but I don't recall them ever telling me to yell whenever I saw one. If they tried to take me, yes, scream like a banshee. But not just for seeing some random person.

My parents taught me to do the same thing, except I was suppose to scream "Fire!" if they tried to take me. That is suppose to attract the attention of more people.

My parents told me to get strangers in the nards.

I still do it.

I usually just screamed " he touched my breasts!"

no, I never yelled stranger, I just did this :

[YT]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RUXGQdVGkjE&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RUXGQdVGkjE&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/YT]

:hehe::hehe:

My parents taught me to yell if they touched me or tried to take me, but not if they just approached me to say hello or ask a question.

Then again have you see Uncle Jesse? To a child he's bound to be a frightening man. All that hair. :o

Don't diss the Katsopolis hair

o man strangers. i used to have nightmares about getting taken and stuff. stupid teachers and stuff always warning us made me scared out of my mind

I yelled out "Stranger Danger!" over and over again.

My parents were practical, not ridiculous. Screaming at the sight of any person you haven't previously met is just asinine. Not to mention overkill. :o

My parents taught me to respect my elders, but run away from strangers...This confused me.

Awww, I thought this thread title meant something else. :awesome:

Parents?

Feh. He-Man and the members of GI JOE taught me about strangers.

Bigger cities I've seen presentations that teach kids to yell "stranger" when they're approached by someone they don't know so that they can alert other kids and parents in the area. That being said:

STRANGERS!! ALL OVER THIS BOARD! AAHH!!

I used to do this to my parents at the mall when i wasn't getting my way.

When I was younger I got in a fight with this kid at school and he gave me a black eye. For days whenever I was out in public any time my parents would look at me I would cower away and act like I was afraid.

This was about the most hilarious thing in the world until my dad said, "You do that one more time I'm going to black the other one and blame it on that kid at school."

My dad would never have actually hit me... but I didn't risk it.

Lol ,that is funny.

My parents used to hit me so often I got used to it . So my brother and I would act up big time in public. We'd go home regretting it but no progress was made.

I don't remember screaming stranger when I was younger at all. I don't think I gave a damn really.
