I think reigning in some of the weird names helps ground some of the characters. Have a really crazy designed character, sure, go weird with the name, I guess. I don't see why Kimberly is a bad choice for an american.



I really enjoy the theme song.

Seems they have learned from SFV, and it looks like SFVI has a rather beefy singleplayer mode, with a create a character type deal. Stage hazards is an interesting new addition to SF, I have to say.

Dhalism and Honda look good. Blanka in overalls looks weird. And poor hobo Ken.



Closed Beta with double the characters of the demo build Capcom has been bringing around. Should have some good videos coming out of it.

Haha, good. I’m very happy the original 8 from SFII are back. They’re most important to me, and as @Silvermoth says, the updated designs are cool on the whole.

Great to hear. I love good single player modes on fighting games. I like when they have stories to fight through as most of them have so many cool characters. The game looks really good to me so far. Agreed, Dhalsim looks awesome, Honda looks good and overalls are a strange choice for Blanka; is he going to fix the car he smashes up during the inter-fight stage?

Not too long then for the beta. Hopefully some great footage from that.

Maybe you’re right on grounding characters. It’s just that Ken, Charlie and Alex sound like a bunch of UK university students with their dad to me. . For an American character I find for eg Guile much more memorable and iconic than if they had called him Jim or Bob. I don’t particular mind Kimberly though, was more of a general comment. I guess having some regular names in there makes the weirder ones pop even more.

I do worry a bit about when the character creator gets out into the general populace, though....

This is looking like it's going to have a far better and more complete launch than SF5. With it being multiplat too I hope it all gives SF a massive boost. I want future DLCs but at least it looks like the game won't be needing them out of the gate this time.
