Well I'm pretty sure this is going to be happening so might as well make a thread on it. As far as I can tell, looks like the squad will consist of:

Deadshot, China White, Bronze Tiger, Shrapnel, and maybe Clock King depending on what happens with his character when he finally shows up. Any other villain of the week characters that Oliver put away that I'm missing?

All I know is, if they aren't led by Rick Flag like before the New 52, I'm not interested.

Would be great if they could get Deathstroke on the team too.

I'm think that we get a various members then next season they will become more of the villian group with Deathstroke leading them under Waller that is

Well they have already said that this season will see two groups emerge, one bad and one good

^ ehh? I thought suicide squad was bad.

Bad: suicide squad
Good: team arrow, including Roy and Sara

Or the bad group has something to do with slade

I would like to see the Suicide Squad branch into their own spin-off show. Or maybe just a mini-series. Watching a show focused on Deathstroke and other villains, doing dirty work for the Government, would be completely amazing.

The problem with having Deathstroke on the Suicide Squad is the fact that you'd have a character named Deathstroke and a character named Deadshot

You know, a part of me wonders why Waller doesn't try to force Oliver to join her squad by threatening to expose his secret and such unless he joins the group given his skills of expertise.

Traditionally, or in the New 52 at least, Deadshot is the lead character (field commander). But I doubt the actor they have has the charisma to do the job. Manu certainly has that (that voice!). So if they got Deathstroke to lead the group, it wouldn't surprise me. Wouldn't mind having Roy drafted as well. Maybe he kills someone this season and Waller's there to bail him out. But it's a toss between Roy and Slade!

BUT, I envision the Suicide Squad as more of a low budget movie that WB can put out between bigger attractions like Batman, Superman and the Justice League. Just get a line up that has low to no superpowers. Make it somewhere between The Expendables and Blade. Doesn't necessarily need to be intellectually challenging like The Dark Knight, but as fun as The Rundown (Welcome to the Jungle) or the Expendables.

Bronze Tiger and Deadshot in the show don't strike me as Team Leader material. So they should definitely do an Arkham Origins and draft Deathstroke on the Team.

So far Bronze Tiger has been drafted. Deadshot seems a safe bet. Deathstroke will hopefully added as well, to have a charismatic actor there, to lead the group. The Clock King will hopefully be added for tech support. So we have 4 team members, but I think we need a 5th one, for a 4 man field squad. Anyone have any idea who it could be? Are there any other villains rumored to appear on Arrow? I wouldn't mind if they add Plastique, to have an explosives specialist on the Team.

So we would have:

Support

  • Clock King

Field Members

  • Deathstroke
  • Bronze Tiger
  • Deadshot
  • Plastique

I'm already loving it, should this be the line up.

If they ever bring in "Rick Flag" onto the show, he'd be a great addition to the team, especially as a leader (assuming if he's portrayed as such).

I think Plastique and an updated version of Shrapnel could make an awesome and tension filled rivalry if they pulled it right. Just give Shrapnel a better costume, let the actor have some good psychotic character moments, then contrast that with the more measured expertise of Shrapnel, even if she herself is a bit fiery in personality.

And I still think they could introduce a version of Captain Atom and just have his powers extremely low-grade and increasing slightly as the season goes on. Say the U.S. Government gets a hold of some of Slade's blood and gives Nathaniel Adam, convicted felon, a transfusion that doesn't impart him with much power but does help him survive a radioactive isotope they make him swallow. The only survivor of hundreds of guinea pigs, it seems to be both killing him and making him stronger. And when he gets too powerful he seemingly blows up, only to come back with better powers and better special effects.

i'm pretty sure China White isn't dead. And Slade is unlikely to join anytime soon as that would require him to be defeated and captured which won't happen until the end of this season at the earliest.

So about....

China white
Deadshot
Clock king
Bronze tiger

I can't see slate joining them, he seems way to big for that

What happen to the H.I.V.E. storyline with Diggle and Deadshot anyway?
