It takes out of the box thinking to come up with unicycle-bot...

maybe to you...i dont see anything "out of box" about a unicycle-bot...i mean overall i have no idea what he's gonna look like..i'm just saying that's what he looked like and i dont see anything wrong with that..that unicycle as a toy looks stupid..and i can't see what kid would want to buy that and think about playing with it..but that's just me....

do those toys even sell?

Just because they looked like that in the cartoons doesn't mean they must be the same now. No one in the first movie looked anything like their cartoon counterparts, except for Prime. So lets make Devastator look realistic instead. And by that I mean in the same style as all the other bots in the movie

before this goes anywhere let me clarify something..i do not expect any of the TF's to look like their counterparts of the 80s.i'm simply asking for a clear looking design..i'm not sold on alot of them now (tf's)(their look)..they look like mushed together junk...i'm basically asking for a clean look design....that's it..carry on...

Yeah they sell. The movie's toyline was a big success. Alot of repaints were intended for other tf toylines, but re-packaged into movie packaging instead to help them sell better.

I don't like Unicycle bot's toy either. The main reason to get him would be to form Devastator. I'm also not used to the idea of non-humanoid TF, not on two legs.

I like the Unicycle bot in the teaser, but I attribute that to the dark lighting and keeping him in shadow. The same trick they use for movie creatures performed by men in costumes. Show them in bright lightning and they would look fake. Keeping them in shadow makes them look better on camera.

my fav. scene was (sideswipe..i thought) coming out the building head on and tranforming into his earth mode(with the sound) that was great!!!!

Sideswipe?? i at first thought it was Barricade but then I seen the audi logo on the car. Another thing if you freeze it when he is in full car mode you can see three unicycle robots behind him jumping while chasing him.

yeh I'm with you on that one that they shouldn't look like they've been thrown into a blender or anything, but since all the bots have the same style devastator should be the same. but of course we should be able to see that it is actually several bots, and not all just melted together.

Yeah it's definitely the Decepticon Audi R8. Note the red eyes he has also.

I'm guessing the 3 bots behind him are Arcee.

i'm just saying..i get they are real to a sense, so they are gonna look a lot diff... some of the design for these robots look to jumble together and it's hard to make out a hand from a foot...or even a body...and i think that was one of the reason why it made it hard to tell what robot was doing what when they were fighting in TF1...

The legends class toys of Optimus and Jetfire are designed to join with each other, so it's looking very likely they do combine

I hope it's just him hooking up to Optimus and flying off with him. A more involved combining between the 2 wouldn't sound right. They're not like the Constructicons who are designed to combine. Jetfire and Optimus aren't even the same faction. Jetfire starts off as a Decepticon

yes exactly. if they "combine" it should be more like Jetfire just grabbin onto Prime and lifting him in the air or something simple like that. nothing complex like you said.
