In August 2014, Nintendo and Mercedes-Benz teamed up for free Mario Kart 8 DLC. It added the 1934 W 25 Silver Arrow, 1957 300 SL Roadster, and GLA. Now, the companies have teamed up again for Super Mario Maker to put Mario behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz for a limited time.
Mercedes-Benz Jump’n’Drive is immediately available under Super Mario Maker’s Event Courses in Course World. The themed course includes the Mercedes-Benz logo and lets people see the Mario in the GLA costume in action. Once completed, the 110 Mystery Mushroom costume is permanently added to the player’s library.
The release of the Mercedes-Benz Mystery Mushroom costume means there’s no longer any space for additional Event Course Mario costumes. Nintendo will need to issue another game update before more could be added.

Super Mario Maker is a great creation tool, but not a comprehensive one. There are many elements from previous Super Mario games that still arent included in the software. Before those can start arriving, though, Nintendo has decided to introduce new items exclusive to this Nintendo Wii U editor.
When Super Mario Maker updates on December 21, three new items will be added to the game. The first is the Bumper. Its a donut shaped platform Mario can bounce off of to reach new heights. A Fire Koopa Clown Car will also be added, for people who want to make shootem up courses. Once Mario is inside of it, he can shoot off fireballs and charged shots that will destroy enemies and blocks. The final item is a P Warp Door, which only appears in a level after a P Switch has been pressed. It remains hidden away until that happens.
The December 21 Super Mario Maker update will also add two new features to Course World. People will be able to bookmark levels shared online. These levels will be able to be sorted either in-game on the Nintendo Wii U or by visiting a web portal that will launch on the Super Mario Maker website. Also, all Course World courses will feature World Records, showing how quickly the best players will be able to clear it.
The Super Mario Maker update will be released on Monday. Well have to wait and see if it also ends up increasing the number of slots in the Mystery Mushroom for future Costume Mario outfits.

Nintendo’s Japanese branch tends to be the one revealing new Super Mario Maker costumes, but the Nintendo UK Twitter account was the first to introduce the game’s next three costumes. Birdo, Captain Toad, and Excitebike will be coming to the Nintendo Wii U game. As usual, Event Courses will need to be cleared to add the new costumes to a player’s catalog.
Captain Toad will arrive first, with the European release date for his Event Course being Christmas day. He will be followed by the Birdo and Excitebike costumes, which will be awarded after clearing NES Remix-themed courses. Their European release date is New Year’s Eve.

The Japanese website for Super Mario Maker now offers wallpapers based on the game. They arent just any wallpapers, though. Theyre ones visitors get to make themselves.
Upon visiting the Super Mario Maker page, people can scroll down to find an option to make PC or mobile wallpapers. While the site is in Japanese, images appear next to the two options, so visitors can click the PC monitor or phone to get started. Once you make your decision and choose a resolution, youre taken to a wallpaper editor.
As in Super Mario Maker, players get standard Super Mario, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and New Super Mario Bros. U sets to choose from. There are six different backgrounds and 16 different decorations to choose from. Unfortunately, you can only choose between small and large Marios, using the Mushroom power up, you cant shake items to get alternate pieces, and you cant combine characters. Clicking the eraser lets you remove one item, while clicking the rocket ship lets you completely reset the wallpaper.
Once youre finished with your Super Mario Maker wallpaper, click the Course Bot button at the bottom of the page to finalize things. It will then give you a finished image you can save and use as a wallpaper.

[YT]PSKVEODERYU[/YT]Super Mario Maker is getting another Event Course from Nintendo, which means people who complete said Event Course are getting another Costume Mario design. As of February 4, Professor E. Gadd will be part of the Nintendo Wii U game.
Nintendo released a preview of Professor E. Gadd’s Event Course today. It’s rather short and filled with ghosts, designed to look like one of Luigi’s Mansion’s haunted houses. As long as you time things right, you shouldn’t have many problems.
Professor E. Gadd debuted in the original Luigi’s Mansion, for the Nintendo GameCube. He’s also made cameo appearances in Mario & Luigi, Mario Party, and Super Smash Bros. games.

People have done incredible things with Super Mario Maker on their Nintendo Wii Us. Theyve dipped into different genres, like shootem ups. Theyve composed music. Now, a user who goes by Helgefan has made a functioning calculator.
Super Mario Makers The Cluttered Chaos-Calculator, found at 705C-0000-01B3-Fe78, lets you add numbers between 0 and 7. It only handles addition, no subtraction, division, or multiplication. Helgefan used the game to create a functioning digital circuit with and and or logic gates, with shelmet s being used as binary states. Helgen offered a full explanation of how it all functions on Reddit.
It will take some time to get your sum. The video of the level above takes about two and a half minutes to add 6+6. It doesnt make the accomplishment any less amazing. The Cluttered Chaos-Calculator goes above and beyond what we expected from a Super Mario level editor.

Many of Nintendo’s amiibo are compatible with Super Mario Maker for the Nintendo Wii U. If the NFC figure is tapped to the GamePad, you’ll get a Mystery Mushroom costume to use in the game. It turns out The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD’s Wolf Link amiibo unlocks a new costume.
When a Wolf Link amiibo is scanned into Super Mario Maker now, a costume tied to it will appear as the 132nd costume in-game. As an unexpected quirk, the text for the costume is currently in Japanese. (It reads, “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Wolf Link.) Pressing up while in the Wolf Link costume will trigger a pose where Midna points with her hair, and it has wolf barking sound effects. Dying or reaching the end of the level in the costume causes sound clips from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess to play.

On March 9, 2016, Super Mario Maker is going to get an update that will add new creation tools and features to the game. To prepare people, Nintendo has released a video that goes through all six of the additions.
The Super Mario Maker video begins by looking at the Skewer. You shake a Thwomp to make one appear in-game. P-Switches can be shaken to create Keys, and shaking a door three times makes a Key Door. Keys can be placed in blocks or attached to enemies, and Mario can carry as many as eight keys at once. Shaking a Coin makes a Pink Coin, which gives Mario a Key when collected. You can put up to 5 Pink Coins in an area.
The video also announces the new 100 Mario Challenge difficulty level. After beating it on the Expert level, the Super Expert mode will unlock. This sends you through six incredibly difficult levels, with only 100 lives to get you through it. 12 new costumes will be added to unlock via 100 Mario Challenge too, with Tetra from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker among them.
Also, tapping your User Info in Course World allows you to check failure points and comments in your courses. You go to a course youve uploaded to the internet, click the comment failure point icon, and youll be able to go through the level to see where people died and what they had to say about specific points.
Finally, the Super Mario Maker Bookmark website will get an update. You will be able to sort to see who has the most World Record clear times. You can choose to see World Records by All-Time and bookmark their World Record-setting courses. There will even be a Bookmark All button.
