Yeah I would like to see that too. I would also like to see Kara and Lois bond. They had great moments in the comic Superman Brainiac. Love to see the movie take some cues from that story there.

Superman has done enough at the box office to get a trilogy but for that to happen who do you think Gunn will let direct Superman going forward. I can’t see Gunn having the time to direct the sequels. He will probably still write the sequels.

The tricky thing here is that Gunn is running all the creative aspects of an entire studio. Speaking as someone who has followed a similar career trajectory lately (I started as mostly a writer but now I’m running an entire branch of a business) it’s often difficult when there is a project I want to write because I know I’m the best person for it but I also know that I don’t have the time to put the effort into it that another writer could. I would absolutely LOVE to see him give us a full trilogy of his own Superman movies. And I think he will give us that to some extent; he will either write all of them or co-write them. But will he direct them? I’m not sure. He’s been making it sound like he’ll direct this Superman follow-up but perhaps he’s just doing the script.

I hope he gets to mark the films but in his current role, that simply might need to get handed off to someone else.

I believe he confirmed that he's also directing that movie.

I think Gunn will direct the most important movies in the DCU. None was more important than Superman. At the very least this next Superman appearance will probably start getting clues to the over all big bad. Gunn will direct this movie and probably the DCU Batman. I wouldn’t be surprised if he decides to direct Wonder Woman.

I expect him to do a Justice League movie whenever that comes around, but my hunch is that he'll pass off Batman and Wonder Woman to other people.

Have you seen how giddy he gets talking about Batman. Wonder Woman is like Superman in the fact he better get her right. One mistake with the trinity and the DCU is ruined. I don’t see Gunn risking his job without either directing or writing a film. He does trust Anna and the DCU writers but does he have a director that he would feel comfortable handling the trinity.

The one downside to that though is the amount of turnaround, typically 2-3 years, that is inevitable between films. It would take him too long to do the Batman and Wonder Woman films himself. And that is not including the Superman-adjacent project he's working on right now.

Gunn's not going to direct all of these movies. It's physically impossible. I think he'll stick with Superman. Batman and Wonder Woman will most definitely have different directors. Wonder Woman should have a female director.

I hear you but it seems like Gunn is more inline with Reeves than he is with the MCU Disney plan. Disney mistake is they oversaturated the market with 3 movies in 6 months plus 2 Disney + shows. I think Gunn is looking close at that mistake. Eventually I could see DC doing a movie and HBO show every 6 months with a cartoon mixed in. Interested in how the break up Supergirl and Lanterns. Will there be a connection?

I seem to recall that Lanterns was rumored to set-up the overarching story of the DCU I think at one point?

I have a hunch that Drew Goddard is gonna take over Brave and the Bold.

And I don't think that James Gunn is planning on directing Wonder Woman.
Goddard is a bit slow though. If he gets the gig we’ll be Waiting for Goddard

It wouldn’t surprise me if they get Greta Gerwig to direct ww if Netflix keep annoying her about the lion, witch and wardrobe franchise

Greta Gerwig directing Wonder Woman (or anything) would be amazing. I have to feel like Barbie was a key influence on Superman. Just the way that the movie leaned into its crazy concepts; it really felt like the way Superman needed to go too and it did.
