will you see marvel's superman: thor

ok, i wasn't sure where to put this thread, but I was curious as to other superman fans thoughts on the new thor movie. i think thor was originally intended to be marvel's version of superman. as a superman fan, are you going to see the new thor movie? in the back of your mind are you going to compare the movie to the new superman movie, and what would you take from the thor movie that you would want for man of steel. i gotta say, i'm not too knowledgeable on thor, but i think hemsworth has the perfect look for the character. i used to think thor and superman were the same height, but it turns out that thor is 6'6 and superman is like 6'4, so thor is supposed to be taller. i think with lifts, it would be pretty cool to see hemsworth and cavill together. ok, well i didn't want to put this thread in the thor thread because it may have seemed like trolling. i'm looking for good discussions and not bashing of either character. mods, if it's in the wrong place, please feel free to move or delete lol.

Thor and Superman are not really anything alike. The only similarities are that they both have super strength and flight.

Other than that, they're really nothing alike, in terms of origin, stories/mythos and personalities.

Marvels Gladiator is more like Superman than Thor.

That said, i'll be seeing Thor, it looks awesome and it has Antony Hopkins as Odin.

I think Thor is a very important movie; if it does well then awesome, if it bombs, it may very well mark the beginning of the end of the superhero movie genre in its present form.
If Thor succeeds, it opens the door for Dr.Strange and may get the Mandarin to finally show up in an Iron Man movie.
I'm a bit baffled by the marketing as I've seen quite an emphasis on the comedic aspects of the movie.
I don't know about you, but I don't want to go see Thor for a few good laughs.
I'll be there on opening night..Thor (specifically the Walt Simonson run) is one of my favorite characters.
