If we're talking about context, what if the reason Superman appears to be in no rush is because what's out there is nothing more than a light show/hologram during a possible parade/celebration that may be happening in metropolis and has absolutely nothing to do with that object being a monster of some sort. Just a thought

Because it doesn't make sense. Even if other heroes are out there fighting it, Superman would never just sit there having a cup of joe with Lois all casually while it happens. That's just seems a bit odd. Shouldn't he atleast look a bit distressed that he's not there helping to save lives?. Surely it would be eating at him that innocent lives may be lost while he has a cup of coffee lol.

I mean... he doesn't look to me like he is just casually having a coffee.

Especially assuming this is the same scene where he's putting his boots on, it could be he was injured and recovering at Lois apartment, and this is his 'I have to go back' discussion.

Like I said, context will surely explain it. Maybe he’s depowered in this moment, we literally don’t know, and it’s stupid to assume there won’t be a in-movie reason.

And for the record, I think if he were ORDERED by the government or the UN or somebody representing mankind not to intervene because he was seen as being responsible for a tragedy or something earlier, he would at least try to respect their wishes before eventually deciding he’s needed anyway.
