Where do I start?
I have a lot things to say about this movie on my mind but at the same time I have a hard time collecting and choosing the proper words in English (forgive me as English isnt my first language, hehe) but I try to give the best impression as I can.
Lets start with the movie itself...It was a blast from start to finish! It was a tight and relatively face paced movie with a lot to digest especially at the first hour, with the only breather is a brief Daily Planet scene and a brief Smallville moment during the end of 2nd arc. So, yeah I echoed the sentiment from some of reviewer here that the movie has moved fast from one scene to scene. But overall nothing's confusing and overwhelmed about the plot, once we get the whole picture of what's going on, the movie picks up faster and flows better from there.
Simply put, James Gunn's Superman is an unapologetically comicbook and superhero movie that doesn't afraid to go silly and weird as possible. From the characters, the tone, the atmosphere, the actions, the interactions...it was like Gunn has straight up took the pages from All Star, Birthright, For Tomorrow combined to life.
The highlight performances are of course, David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult. I actually want David and Rachel to play this parts for so long that I cannot imagine there is a pair in CBM that more likeable and loveable than these two. Their chemistry is absolutely off the chart it is amazing Gunn manage to find this 2 perfect castings.
I, especially love how Gunn handle the relationship between Clark and Lois...it is very fulfilling that finally someone has portrayed Lois as someone more than just a woman who had a high school puppy crush on Superman.
She confronts him, she questions him, hell even at one point, she wants to break up with him. Imo, those traits are what put Rachel a tier above of the rest of Lois' actresses (I heard a lot of praise for the Superman & Lois' Lois but I havent yet to see that show so I can't compare as of now).
Also like his previous GotG trilogy, James Gunn bursting this movie with a lot of heart, emotions, and also humor,..but rest assured for those who are had concerns about Gunn's humor that none of his dirty jokes that previously feared, appeared here. The closest thing of James Gunn-y humor, I think was just a harem thing and a piss, lol
I also want to talk about Justice Society members (ermm..it is Justice Gang in this movie

) (it is Justice Society because, except for Guy, Hawkgirl and Mr.Terrific are mostly known as JSA in the comics, not JL).
Nathan Fillion is just as expected, acted as Guy Gardner really act and speak from the comics

(seeing him here makes me even more hyped for "Lanterns", really looking forward seeing him interact with Hal and John).
Hawkgirl is just kind of there but she showed some of memorable power display of her own.
But the memorable one is none other than Mr.Terrific! ...His calm presence, with clever use of tech like his T-spheres, made him feel competent and badass. But despite his calmness, he is not some self-serious character, he's uttered some of memorable and funny one liners actually

Oh, and seeing the Hall of Justice in its full of glory is glorious!
Now..the action...there are 2 that sticks with me.
First, the Kaijuu battle...
For someone who grew up watching and loving "tokusatsu show", this kaiju battle is everything!!
Knowing that James Gunn is a fan of tokusatsu made me really happy that he's not afraid nor shame to put the silliness of battling a giant monster (which become part of the charm for a lot of tokusatsu show) in a big screen for the whole world to see.
Seriously, my inner child is screamingggg during this scene!
And then...Superman vs Raptors squad battle scene.
Seeing that spinning move, and then the camera shows his S emblem before doing a spinning heat ray...OMG!!!

thats the moment where I said to myself : "This is SUPERMAN!!!"
And I was crying at that moment. Really not lie, as someone who is a Marvel fan at heart, I was crying!!
This is the feeling that i will cherish on for the rest of my life, the moment of joy, happy, and wonders when watching a movie (a comic book movie in this case). I feel I havent felt this way in a long time. The last time I ever had this deep emotion feeling was 2012 watching The Avengers, and 2016 watching Civil War. (Endgame didnt impressed me at first because I was disappointed with fat Thor, though I grew to accept and peace with it as time goes). And then MCU phase 4 onward didn't really had the same magic and wonders like it used to be, and the instant talk of CBM fatigue doesnt help either.
So, I am really grateful for this movie, Superman, and James Gunn for reigniting the wonders and the magic that I thought were long gone from this genre. (if anything, i want to believe that this genre has still a lot more to give to us fans)...(sorry for being a little emotional here, haha

)
And to wrap this review, I feel it won't be complete if I didn't talk about the man himself, Superman!
Getting personally to know the character especially for the past 4 or 5 years, I can surely and confidently say that Superman is not just a man with powers but a symbol of hope and compassion, and despite his godly powers, he is just as much as human as the rest of us, he has flaws, doubts, worries, fears...but despite all of that, he is not afraid to do the right thing, and standing for something greater.
David Corenswet's Superman is a perfect epitome of that..more so than Henry Cavill, Brandon Routh, (I havent seen Superman and Lois so I can't judge that version but I will surely plan to binge-watching it soon

, oh..and I've never watched Smallville) and dare I say...embodied his traits better than even Christopher Reeves (especially Corenswet's Clark clears the floor against Reeves' Clark ,who was just a caricature and I remember the quote from Kill Bill that Reeves' Clark seems acted that he is mocking humanity).
Put simply...Corenswet radiates charm, earnest, energy, optimism, hope, and most importantly, humanity in 1 movie than any previous Superman/Clark actors combined in all their appearances (well except maybe for Christopher Reeves)
Overall: 10/10
Can't wait to watch it again!
