Reminds me of the recent excellent Jodorowsky's Dune (documentary on the failed attempt of adapting Frank Herbert's Dune in the mid-70s, with such illustrious names as Dalí, Welles, Giger, Pink Floyd, Carradine, Jagger and others attached to the project), so I'm definitely going to keep an eye on that.

There's no release date for the finished thing yet, right?

From what I understand, the three suits shown at the end of the trailer are the ones that were going to appear on film. The first suit, the classic blue & red suit, has already been unveiled; though the pictures were in black & white.

This looks amazing! I can't wait for the documentary! I really wish the folks behind DC's animated efforts would make a Superman Lives animated movie with Nic Cage doing the voice.

It really is amazing that it got that far in pre production yet they never made it (although rumour is they may have even shot a day or two. As much as I don't think Cage was right for Superman, I do feel bad for him, he must have really thought it was going to happen.

Its crazy isn't it, I can only say we don't know for sure if it would have been bad but a lot if us feel it would be. Fears of Nic Cage as Supes, Tim Burton as director and imo a messy script make us feel like it was a car crash waiting to happen. But interesting thing about car crashes we all like to look.
