Superman & Lois Superman & Lois General News & Discussion Thread (TAG SPOILERS!)

I need to get to the newest episode. I’m running behind.

I’m genuinely intrigued by what they do with Jordan. He’s certainly not a worthy successor. He’s got a whole Superboy Prime thing going on.

Also, I was running behind so I didn’t get to post in the second episode thread but:
how did Luthor stomp on and destroy Clark’s heart?

Shouldn’t his heart be like unbreakable? It should’ve been like stomping on granite

Well...

I actually found the heart business to be both ghoulish and goofy. (Which is an accomplishment of sorts...) I will, however, attempt a fanwank (as the kids say) to your question. Presumably, S&L operates according the “aura” theory of superpowers. But this energy is a special property of living Kryptonians. So upon death, the aura would dissipate; and the body (including all parts and organs) would revert to mortal status. :nerd:

Wasn’t he also
fighting Doomsday for days on end, or have I got my wires crossed? Thus between the energy required for that and his eventual death, he likely exhausted his reserves of solar power and that made it all the easier for his heart to be crushed under foot by Luthor

This season...I can't even! It's better than even my optimistic heart thought! They have nailed all of it so far :)

Edit: And Tom Cavanaugh as a pretty interesting character...

I'm enjoying it for the most part, but I must admit I do find Michael Cudlitz's long, wistful stares into space a tad irritating.

There is a bit too much of that I can agree...and his horrible wig in the flashbacks is beyond hilarious!

But that scene on the street outside the hotel was something I have wanted to see for a LONG time in a Superman show/movie.

Can't believe that it's already been eight years from when these photos were taken from each other.

I never liked that first suit. The latest one is a great design, though I do wish they'd made the colours lighter. I guess there's some symbolism going on there by the showrunners with the current challenges Clark is facing.

Those straps will always be distracting to me, even on the black version of the suit we got in Elseworlds.

It never bothered me as much as it probably should have. Looked kind of regal...

The full preview for the finale is friggin great. This season, minus a few quibbles, has been everything I could hope for!

Just noticed the wedding ring. Did Superman wear that prior to the recent reveal?

One of the most beautiful endings I ever seen. :waa:
I mean the whole season nailed it but the last episode was just as good as it gets started to finish but I literally teared up the last 10 minutes it was so great!

Well, I think even if you have a disdain for CW superhero shows, this one has got to be the exception to the rule. Now that the "Arrowverse" has concluded, this is easily the best it had to offer and then some. Even the best of The Flash & Arrow had to offer doesn't come close to this, imo. And I'm someone who has watched pretty much all of these shows since the beginning.

Superman has always been one of my favorite superheroes, if not favorite (Green Lantern & Supes interchange at times.) I'm not sure how you can watch this series as a Superman fan and not find something you will love out of it.

Fantastic series finale. I just wish the series was given a better budget. It deserved it. Especially for the finale.

Tyler Hoechlin probably has become my favorite Superman. We will see what Gunn/Corenswef bring to the table next year!

We got Bizzaro, Doomsday, & Lex Luthor throughout this series, and I think they were all handled well.

I could write much more, but tldr; great show, Superman fans should give it a go if they haven't yet.
