No way they'll have Supergirl and Superman shows airing at the same time.......goodbye Kara Zor El, I hope they remember you :o

The Supergirl cast signed 7 year deals as far as we know.

Supergirl will go a minimum of 7 seasons. They'll be on the air together for at least a season or two, depending on how quickly Superman gets to air.

But it's pretty much never been subtle when it comes to Superman. Superman has almost always gone right to the heart of the issue/s, be it racism, bigotry, bullying, or the need to buy war bonds.

But it has evolved to be more subtle and complex. Though not every modern story is always subtle, such as what we can often see on the CW. I don't expect it to have much depth on CW either, though I'd like to be surprised. I don't know what tone they're going for with Superman on CW. It would be nice if it did confront modern issues in an interesting way. But it is usually mixed with some goofy villain battle on a TV budget.

I can see Supergirl taking Superman's place on the big screen. Basically they'll swap places, and I can see it staying like that for some while.

I DEMAND goofy villain battles on a TV budget, dammit. Supes didn't spend 81 years in comics giving doctoral theses on existentialism, theology and geopolitics. I know we all like some epicness from our superheroes but if you ask me, people could do with taking them a little less seriously these days and remember that there's nothing wrong with a little whimsy and ridiculousness these characters used to give people (and they liked it!) on a regular basis. If he doesn't fight any giant apes, furry humanoids or dinosaurs within the first season, I'll cry foul. Superman's a character that's meant to make people smile. There are ways of doing that beyond smartass quips and sarcasm.

A woke SJW with goofy villains. Got it :oldrazz:

I'm sure it will have some whimsy in the first season, with Clark and Lois balancing being working parents along with Clark's superheroism.

Superman in red underwear for the TV series is a must!

A shame that its on The CW. I am so tired of seeing the same rainy Vancouver sets being used over and over. Most likely skipping this one too, The CW stuff just doesnt cut it anymore.

That's exciting news and bringing on a Superman show is perfect right after COIE. They can reboot certain characters (Lex, Lucy, etc) and we can get at least 1 year of hopefully some good Superman/Supergirl crossovers.

Elizabeth didn't blow me away in her little time as Lois so I hope that they give her some good Lois material that is able to make her see her as Lois.

It is a shame that Supergirl wasted some characters like Jimmy/James since it would be fun to see their dynamic. And that Conner will be off limits to them since that'd be a good storyline to tell.

Really hope that Tyler gets a new costume out of this that looks not as cheap.

It is funny that Lois & Clark ended on a cliffhanger that involved a baby being introduced and Superman & Lois is beginning with them as parents.

I would not be surprised if this was somewhat brought on about by Melissa potentially not renewing her contract after S6 or S7.

So, any chance that we'll see these two pop on this show then?

Another thing that just occurred to me - aside from writing some of the best episodes of The Flash, Helbing also gave us the first episode of the Invasion! crossover, which was the first time we got to see how exponentially more powerful Supergirl was than all the other Earth-1 heroes combined (and how terrifying those powers could be when she was mind-controlled). So those assuming Supes will be massively nerfed in this show might end up pleasantly surprised. The fx might not look great, but I think the powers will be given the proper respect. Certainly more so than the SG team (who nerf Kara to a maddening degree sometimes) has done.

One of the potential things that excites me is the thought flashbacks.
I’ve already mentioned Superman & Lex as “friends”. But imagine seeing flashbacks to a time when Lois didn’t know Clark was Superman. Maybe they could cast someone as a young Jimmy if they ever do those scenes. Heck what about some flashbacks to young Clark on the farm with ma & pa. Heck imagine seeing the actual awards show where Superman was given the Man of Tomorrow mantle much to Lex’s chagrin. Heck I could see an Arrow S2 situation where we saw Oliver battling Deathstroke in modern day aswell as on the island. Imagine an episode where it’s Superman stooping the earthquakes created by Lex whilst also battling Lex in the modern timeline. There’s so much potential.

I wish they would I absolutely loved S1 and it bugged me how they just did away with loads of stuff like the cast etc. Surely they could have gotten some of these actors back for an episode.

That excites me even more I didn’t realise he wrote the first episode of Invasion (which was the best of the three imo).

I’m OK with iffy looking FX I think people often over blow how they look. I can suspend enough disbelief that it doesn’t bother me.

I wouldn't want flashbacks to be a part of the show's regular formula like with Arrow, but I'd definitely be down for some flashback episodes every now and then.

I hope they bring back Jon Cryer’s Lex permanently. But man this show could get campy so easily...I’m worried about that.

I pray that they dont give Clark an the obligatory "Tech guy" and usual form of some kind of police force. I know Berlanti has found his superhero formula but it is time to break from it and try something new.

And dont give us any established Alien characters that look like Aliens but end up being normal looking humans.

Maybe they could poach Dan Slott, lol.

Don’t even get me started on that guy haha

Yeah that’s what I mean. Supergirl has done it occasionally so do it like that. I don’t think Arrow knows how to cope without them hence why they brought in flash forwards lol

While I don’t want it to be the team dynamic that the DC CW shows have done to death. I do think though this is the perfect opportunity to bring in Emil Hamilton. I’d hope he’d be someone Superman would go to now and then like in STAS.
