I only started reading the Supes titles the last year so I'm obviously lacking in history......In part 3 of the Last Son arc, (which I'm actually enjoying) Zod appears surprised that Supes knows of him and it's clear Supe's is being written as if he's never met Zod before?...what gives?....I've never read "Zod" in a Superman comic but he was the main villain in Superman 2???....is this a huge retcon?

You know there's a question thread... sorry though, i don't know the answer to the question...

Could only find the Marvel edition of said thread....seriously those threads should be stickied

looks like its been retcond with the crisis that they have never met
nothing more then that really..

It's happened before. Zod has had at least four "first" apearances.

Like others have mentioned before, Zod has been reintroduced a couple of times before. There is/was even a Zod from Earth. They'll probably blame Infinite Crisis for letting Donner revamp how Zod and his goon squad met Superman. Although, the trio of Kryptonian criminals he had to kill about a decade back (or more) were from a pocket dimension and it would be reasonable to think that he "doesn't count" as the "real" Zod. Anyway, don't let movie continuity affect what you read in comics, they're two different beasts. Just because it happens in a movie it doesn't make it fact in comics and vice versa.;)

Yeah, the one thing about Supes is that he follows no sensible train of continuity. I mean sure, they keep certain aspects of his mythos in place, but ultimately, things get shifted to keep it 'entertaining' and to introduce/delete things that need to be used.
I used to get all up in arms about the ever-changing shifts, but now-I just roll with it. I'm too in love with Superman to get aggravated........he's soooo amazing to me that I'll buy all of it!!! (Well, within reason that is!!)

Hey I've also got a superman question except it aint no stinking newbie one:mad::p. Does superman get hurt by hell fire?

Usually Magic is Mystical or Spiritual in nature so yes. It would probably hurt like hell.:)

lol. I made a pun. Hurray me!

So that means ghost rider will kill superman in a fight?

If Superman didn't simply nuke him from orbit with his heat-vision. Supes has dealt with mystical/magic folks before, so something like hell-fire isn't really anything new to him.

Hellfire would kill Superman if he didn't avoid, block it, beat the user to the punch, etc. If it hits him it croaks him.
