Superman Reboot Writers Workshop

I like it alot, and I love the title, that should be it, if the next batman movie can be called THE DARK KNIGHT they can call this THE MAN OF STEEL.......

If this was a real trailer, everyone in the theatre would cheer at the "But this time may be his last"

very good..perhaps you should add footage of Supes falling when you say his last.

I will throw a script in here later, but now I'm going to script what an ad for my vision would be. Give yall a sneek peak of what's to come :cwink:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Outer space, there are chunks of rock in the foreground and a gigantic red sun in the back.

Clark (V.O)
Five Years ago astronaughts launched an expedition to Krypton supposedly to investigate possible remains.

A spaceship from Earth passes in front of the camera that proceeds to follow it.

Clark (cont.)
They said nothing was discovered, that Krypton was still the ghost planet my father Jor-El proclaimed it to be.

Slow zoom in and through the spaceships walls, in the rear of the ship is a small metallic object; obviously alien in make.

Clark (cont.)
They lied; something remained, and in secrecy they took it back to Earth to study. They thirsted for knowledge and power through alien means.

Smash cut to Lex Luthor staring in wonder at the device as it twists and contorts; like the world's most complicated rubix cube solving itself. Behind Lex the words CADMUS LABS are imprinted on the wall.

Clark (cont.)
They should have left it amongst the remains of Krypton.

The screen turns completely black.

Clark (cont.)
If they had, maybe Earth would stand a chance.

Shot of Superman flying into the air, rapid cut to Lois backed against a wall in fear, rapid cut back to Superman rocketing upwards, rapid cut to Lex laughing evilly, back to Superman, rapid cut to Jason in his bed as a giant shadow is cast over him, yet again to Superman, rapid cut to Cadmus Labs exterior as it's covered in bright white light then as the light fades becomes completely dark, back to Superman, cut to Lois in a crowd of people and up on a public stage Lex Luthor stands with the American flag as a giant banner behind him, now we have a view from above Superman looking down at Metropolis as the giant city seems to be evolving; buildings become bigger and look even more sci-fi.

After observing what's happening for a moment Superman charges down with an over the shoulder shot, as he gets closer to his destination we see he's charging at the humanoid cyborg Brainiac. A green dust flies out of the robot, Superman is in noticable pain and falls to the ground, the dust was Kryptonite in aerosole form. Fade to another shot, Brainiac leans over Superman.

Brainiac:
I thought you were the Last Son Of Krypton but I realise you have spawned. This is an anomalee that is my duty to fix so before I crush you, I will make your heir my own.

Superman then watches as Lex appears with Jason in one hand and a gun in the other. He throws the boy to Brainiac who goes down on one knee.

Superman:
no...

Brainiac places a hand on Jason's face.

Jason:
Superman!

Superman:
no...

Jason begins to writhe about and his body starts to change, we only catch small glimpses but he starts to appear like Brainiac does.

Superman:
NO!

Smash cut to the S symbol as it begins to mutate so it too is similar to the Brainiac design.

THE LAST SON OF KRYPTON

That was really good. I loved how you changed the mood and music just before the supes theme REALLY kicked in. And you slogans for it, top notch. :woot:

none taken. Care to tell me why though?:yay:

I'm gonna say cool, but I'm also gonna say booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! to bizarro

worst villain that could ever be introduced into a live action franchise. It'll be a disaster no matter how they handle it

No offense, Wesyeed, but...huh?!
Duh!

better luck next time, man.

Well, I didn't finish watching it so I can't give an objective critique, but when the Queen song started up, it just really turned me off so I stopped watching. I'm not sure that particular song lends itself to a Superman trailer. Just sayin' is all. :word:

Queen was essential to my artistic vision for the trailer. I needed something fun and primal in a way, to evoke a sense of forthcoming epic adventure, you know?

Anyway there's more than queen in there since the song finished before the vied did so I decided to use one of my favorite movie scores ever by James Horner. It's a good one.

it was alright, but nobody at a theatre would understand the backwards S.

I'll treat just like the release of a movie over a week-

friday-marketigng campaign
saturday-entire plot breakdown (this would be the movies release).

SO-Heres where I would start.

Director-Christopher Colombus

WHY I picked him-
He's somebody who can capture the tone a superman movie needs perfectly. The fun yet serious tone. He's a specialist. A lot like a spider-man, or harry potter 1 tone. He can also handle the atmosphere great-Potter 1 was a great example-thats a huge movie in terms of size and scale; it goes alot of places, just like a star wars movie would, or how a superman movie should but didnt in RETURNS. He has shown with Harry Potter 1 he can handle enormous movies and enormous pressure, and do it well. Potter 1 wa s only not a GREAT movie-just a good one-due to poor performances-understandibly-from the child actors. We wouldnt have to worry about that with this movie. I'm confident with him wed geta huge fun, epic movie that wouldnt be so overly serious that it make sthe movie less entertaining, which is what happened in SUPERMAN RETURNS.

WHY I gave Singer the boot-
Basically what I said above. He didnt understandf the way a modern-sueprman should be. The atmosphere was way off, as was tone and pacing. He just took what sahould be a big fun movie and made it far too serious to be entertaining to a wide audience.

what''s the point?

btw, the budget is $200mil??? too expensive.

you can't make that assumption... just because Singer screwed it up doesn't mean another director will do the same thing.
